My favorite decaf teaIt s hard to find a good decaf tea if you enjoy strong tea and I feel the Typhoon is the very best. The price is not as good as it used to be but what is? It s still a good deal. If you enjoy a regular tea as opposed to decaf, then I recommend PG tips.5I Lived In England, And This Is True British TeaI purchased this item on my own with no compensation for this review. Please click on Helpful at the bottom of this review if what I wrote is useful to you.I lived in England as a teenager, and we started every morning with Typhoo Tea, with cream directly from our Guernsey milk, and large granulated Demerara sugar. After living with Typhoo, every other tea tastes like water.I call Typhoo the 10W-40 of teas. And that's meant as a compliment.About 20 years ago I tried the decaf version and found there was no compromise in taste and flavor. So this has been my go-to extension of the Typhoo brand since then. Here's how I make tea the British way. Full disclosure: This uses bags to simulate the same taste. In Britain, I used loose leaves. But the bags taste just the same and it's way less messy.Put two bags in a coffee mug and fill it with refrigerated water, leaving room for much more milk or cream than you are used to. Microwave for two minutes, and steep for one. Squeeze out all the tea and discard the bags. Add milk or ideally light cream until it turns to a light golden color, and two teaspoons of demerara sugar or sugar-in-the-raw. (The attached photo I took shows two demerara sugar cubes.)Your tea drinking will never be the same. Highly recommend.5Tastes a lot better than most decaf bag teaGood tea but I have now decided that PG Tips Decaf bag is better than this and now my go-to decaf. Both are better than most store bought decafs by far. Most decaf tea brewed hot tastes awful, especially the US supermarket brands. Iced maybe but any tea tastes ok when iced. They have a weird off chemical taste, and some even taste a bit fishy. This is one of the few that does not have much of that signature decaf tinge. It brews extremely fast being extremely fine pieces of leaf like all Typhoo tea. I would say 20-30 seconds for a stout cup the way the British drink it strong with milk. Do not leave it in too long! I used to get loose leaf Typhoo years ago in England, and while it's not gourmet tea it's strong and flavorful and not bitter. I was buying expensive loose leaf decaf to avoid the terrible supermarket decafs but this about as good and a lot more convenient.4The only decaf worthy of putting on ice.I drink a lot of black iced tea. None of that fruity hibiscus sorry excuse for tea herbal slop for me. However, I've recently decided to switch to decaf (at least in the afternoon and evening). My first attempt was using good old Lipton decaf. Lipton had been my staple caffeinated iced tea since I was in the womb (seriously, my mother drank it while pregnant). What can I say about Lipton? Nothing good, unfortunately. It was every bit as bitter as regular tea without any of the flavor. Yuck. I moved on to Twining's. After trying Twinings decaf Earl Grey, decaf English Breakfast, and decaf Irish Breakfast I was still not satisfied. They were all the same, a mere shadow of their caffeinated selves. More yuck. I was going to give up when I stumbled upon Typhoo decaf. I was pretty sure it was going to be more of the same bitter, flavorless swill as the Lipton and Twining's decaf but the positive reviews on Amazon convinced me to try it. I was glad I did. Wow! My prayers had been answered. Typhoo is great. Every bit as flavorful as the regular stuff (I've switched over to their caffeinated version too) without being overly bitter. It tastes a lot like caffeinated Lipton (which was my gold standard in iced tea). I highly recommend this for anyone searching for a decaf black iced tea.5Wonderful Decaf Black TeaI love a good cup of rich black tea with a little milk in it. I usually drink PG Tips but only in the morning because of the caffeine. I read the reviews on this decaf Typhoo tea & decided to try it. I love it!! It has a good rich taste that is smooth & takes a little milk well. Probably not quite as full bodied as the regular PG Tips but very, very close. This lets me drink tea any time of the day or evening. Try it, you won't regret it!5Not highly ranked.I have been enjoying PG Tips recently and Yorkshire prior to that. I looked up rankings for English teas and Typhoo kept coming up so I decided to try it. I found it to be very weak and what taste there was seemed quite bland. I would not order again and I rank it far below the others mentioned. I did notice that the "best by" date was only 6 weeks out from receipt date which possibly had an effect as well.2Best decaf tea. It's hard to find a good decaf tea in the stores here in San Diego. The English store does stock this tea but it is 3 times as expensive. This really tastes like good quality regular tea.AND the price is great!!!5Ty-Phoo decafGreat tasting decaf tea for iced tea. I've been drinking PG Tips for while now and mostly drink Boston Tea Company Loose Leaf White Peony and want to try something different. It's a strong tea, I use 2 bags for a half gallon of ice tea brewed for 5 minutes vs 6 bags of other teas. It has a different taste and blend from PG Tips, which is still my favorite black tea, both are equally strong and flavorful and far superior to mainstream Liptons, Luzianne and the like here in the US.5GOOD decaf tea - brews a strong cupAfter trying Tetley's decaf tea, I decided Tetley claimed it was 'decaf' because it never brewed into more than a pale liquid, even with two bags and steeping for 10 minutes. After reading reviews of other brands, I settled on this one - it's perfect! A strong cup of tea (I like adding cream/sweetener) that isn't too astringent. A good price for the quantity as well. I will definitely be buying this again.5Tyhoo decaf is amazing! Most of the decaf teas you can buy in the grocery store are not worth drinking because they have so little flavor. This, on the other hand - WOW! Now that's a cup of tea! Actually, I find that a single teabag will handle making a small pot of tea - which if perfect for me at work. I would not recommend this tea if you prefer a very light flavor, unless you only brew it for a moment (and then re-use the bag like I do sometimes!).5
