Excellent Blood Boosting SupplementAfter taking the full dosage (3 pills per day) my iron levels increased from 7 to 11 in a span of three weeks. I also included more beef and citrus in my diet during this time. I had no stomach or digestive issues while taking the supplement and I was happy that it also included folate and B12 so I was able to replace another supplement I was taking. I'm 7 months pregnant now, during a critical time of blood supply increase in my pregnancy and my energy levels improved since taking this. Granted I'm still tired but not constantly exhausted.5Call it, "Supersorb"This iron supplement is by far the most easily absorbed formula I've EVER tried. It does not constipate; no bloating, no tight tummy, no yucky burps... none of that! I have ulcerative colitis, and not to mention due the loss of blood and poor absorption of nutrients, I ve to be very vigilant in keeping my iron levels up without bothering my intestinal flora, & Ferrasorb does just that for me. I have taken these iron pills without having to worry about them causing havoc in my leaky gut.Thank you, Thorne Research for an excellent formulation, AND Thank you Amazon for bringing it to us!!!5My midwives recommended this supplement and the reviews definitely backed it upI am 30 weeks pregnant and discovered my iron was low. This came as no surprise because I have been anemic with each of my 3 previous pregnancies. With each one I had to be on iron supplements. My midwives recommended this supplement and the reviews definitely backed it up. Because my levels are as low as they are I was told to take between 100 - 200 mg of iron daily for a couple weeks to get my numbers up. Each pill is 36 mg of iron so I took 3. To avoid upsetting my stomach I drank a ton of water and ate my breakfast with taking this iron supplement. I have never gotten sick while taking iron before but was attempting to err on the side of caution. In fact I haven't gotten sick this entire pregnancy and I tend to not throw up easily (years since I last experienced this). Unfortunately my body doesn't like this particular brand of iron because I vomited a couple hours later. As soon as I did the intense nausea quickly went away. I did try 2 pills at a time and felt queasy off and on all day. I managed to get by okay with just taking 1 pill with some mild nausea for a short time but still not ideal. Perhaps it is just this particular pregnancy, as each one is different. I love that the pills are really small and easy to swallow as I tend to have difficulty taking supplements so it is a shame that this particular brand of iron hasn't worked out for me.2The best, no constipation, Ferritin levels went up 4 time in only 1.5 month of taking this (from 7 to 30)This is the best iron supplement I have found over the last 4 years of being anemic. No stomach issues at all! In my opinion, those reviewers complaining of constipation are not consuming enough fiber. I am Pegan - paleo/vegan, so I eat a ton of veggies and berries (up to 9 cups) as well as protein and have no problems with this supplement, but in only 1.5 months of taking it, my iron is great, I finally have some reserves - low, but at least not below the minimum amount. My Ferritin was 7 and now it is 30! this is huge. I lowered the dose and now taking half to keep building it up. After a week of taking these, I felt a spike in energy, feel great, all female "issues" stabilizing.5Worked for meMy iron stores (ferritin level) were extremely low (4.5) so my naturopath prescribed these Ferrasorb caps. After 6 months of taking two capsules per day, my level went up to 43! I no longer feel sluggish and tired daily and this supplement didn't affect my digestion/elimination at all like other iron supplements have been known to do. I'm not a doctor, so please check with your health care provider before taking this.5Brought iron levels back to NormalWhen I began taking these supplements I was right on the brink of needing a blood transfusion. I had already made an appointment with a hematologist with the expectation having to get an iron infusion. Within three months, my levels were almost back within a normal range. My hematologist was baffled. Along with this, I also took a beef liver supplement, and drank beet juice, both of which are considered natural blood builders.5Did not improve iron levelHad a low iron blood test from my doctor, and he suggested I take an iron supplement. I was also a little low on b12 so I purchased these, and took them every day until I was nearly out of them. I repeated the blood test and saw no increase in my iron or b12. Now I need to find another. Hope this saves you the time and money I lost. Look for a different supplement.1Works great!This product has worked amazingly well. Within 7 weeks I went from extremely anemic (8.2 hemoglobin) to within normal range (12.3). I took ferrasorb, and an extra 500mg of vitamin C to support iron absorption, twice a day. I have no negative GI side edge and I will continue to take this as long as they make it.5Best iron pill ever!I took it during pregnancy due to third trimester anemia, and within 2 weeks my hemoglobin was back in normal range. My OB was completely surprised. It was easily digestible and did not cause the regular gastrointestinal issues like other iron preparations did. I continued to take it during the post partum period due to blood loss during c-section, and have noticed that my hair is not falling out like it did after the births of my other children. What an added benefit! I also have enough energy to take care of a newborn and five other children.5
