Better than the real thing!I used this recently to make a friend a vanilla latte. She said it was the best one she s ever had and still talks about it! I agree, which is why I have one every morning. I used to be a Starbucks snob, but now I like my homemade version better. 5Faulure!The foil seal is not strong enough. The pressure blows out the seal and all you get is a cup full of grounds. Taste is irrelevant, seeing as how I can't drink it. Total waste. 1Love Verismo system but sweetened chai pods too sweet for me straight from the tap. Probably great chai lattes.My wife likes these with milk. The reality is I bought these so she'd perhaps warm up to the new Verismo system. I love coffee more than she does, so these chai pods are more for her than me. Anyway, I hoped these would encourage her to interact more with the latest kitchen gadget that I proclaimed could not be lived without. Mission accomplished. She now likes the machine, coffee, Nifty stand/pod holder and these chai pods. Although straight from the tap these chai pods are too sweet for me, but with milk I can see how they might make a tasty chai milk tea or latte. I'd recommend trying them even though I'm a simple fan of copious, fresh strong black coffee.Bottom line is I really like the Verismo system for mainly straight black coffee (espresso and Verona), these chai pods might be a nice distraction from coffee. So while I didn't subtract a star for being too sweet for me (after all they're advertised as sweetened), probably I would enjoy more these chai pods unsweetened. To me it would make more sense to sell "latte" pods with both sugar and milk vs. just milk and then sell unsweetened chai pods. This way people that don't want (or can't have, e.g., diabetics) could enjoy the base product while others can simply season with whatever to taste. Already I drink unsweetened chai tea from a powder (recommend Rani Masala also sold on Amazon), so naturally if unsweetened chai Verismo pods were available, I buy them. 5Something strange about this order?a very nice drink. But I'm knocking off one star since the shipping box seems to have been opened and resealed on the way here and the teavana box was also opened by itself when I opened up the shipping box... which I also found suspicious. however the pods themselves didn't seem to be tampered with at all... so I ended up using them. but, the pods themselves also seem lighter than the ones i get instore from starbuck's? I mean, the pods I get in person from a starbucks nearby tends to have more bang for their buck, being able to fill up a large cup with just one pod. but those pods I ordered on-line wasn't able to fill up a large cup halfway without requiring me to use up two other pods as well? The only reason why I ordered from online was because it was cheaper to do so than to go to a store in person. and now I know why it's so cheap now?? 3Don't buyEither these are crappy mimics to the real thing, or they are just crappy. They don't work in my Verisimo Starbucks machine. They fit, the machine pumps water into the pod, but only a little coffee comes out on any setting. Then the machine starts shaking and making loud noises not typical for the process. I opened the pod and the "coffee" grounds were a consistency of pudding/mud. After a few attempts, I put a pod in that I bought from Starbucks and is worked just fine.These pods are crap, and you'll be wasting your money if you buy them. Even worse is they don't accept returns. 1Great flavor! Will buy again forsure!Looove these pods!! They are so delicious and not too strong. I am pretty sensitive to caffiene so i tend to get lighter roasts or decaf. These pods are perfect becuz they won t get me all jittery but also give me the energy i need to get up and start my day! Very delicious and love how it comes out of the machine nice and creamy looking, i add a bit of creamer to mine becuz i need the extra sweetness but overall its very delicious and i would rate it better than the pikes place roast which came with my verismo. 5Loose pods without box!I ordered this and got loose pods-- not a box of pods. The box is important because it contains the expiration date and shows that the pods were sealed and not tampered with. 1Great tasting brew, but let me tell you about the brew station itself.I know this is a review of the roast but I'm going to also say a few words about the Verismo itself. Mainly because my dogs woke me up an hour and half earlier than I planned and because I bought mine at a Starbucks store and not on Amazon so here goes.Pros:I have had about every single serve coffee maker (under $1000) that there is. You know, the pack of single serve stations that are in the $200 ballpark. I cant even remember the names of the all. I guess Keurig had been the best of the bunch until now. Starbucks Verismo is the first one to reach a real, brewed coffee taste with distinct flavor characteristics in each roast. I love the coffee i get every morning with absolute consistency. The Verona roast is terrific. Dark, bold but not overwhelming and the finish is a nice bittersweet dark chocolate.Cons:I bought the lower priced model of the two Verismo machines; the 580. Here's what I don't love about it but will live with because i LOVE the coffee it gives me. First, the water reservoir is too small. Of course, if I wanted to spend another $150 their other model, the 585 has 4x greater water capacity. And speaking of water, the water reservoir tank is a pain to get in after you've filled if you don't have the entire unit pulled out so that you can clearly see what you're doing. Another thing I'm not crazy about is the system they created for dispensing of your used pods. In the store, it really seemed like a nifty idea. When it's time for a new cup, you just lift the lever and the old pod gets dumped into a hidden basket so you don't have to fool with it and you can get right to brewing a cup of coffee. But like all things hidden, you have to deal with it at some point and in this case, it's a messy process. You pull out the plastic cup holder tray with the plastic basket positioned on the back side and what you find is a basket full of used pods which is fine, but then you have to deal with all the liquid run-off from said pods and, let's just say, it's a process. I would have preferred a design that would have lifted the used pod back up to allow you to dispense of just one pod in the moment than a basket full later.All that being said, I still love the coffee quality and all the design quirks I will live with without much complaint. 5Best Chai tea i ve ever hadThis Masala chia is bomb!! I absolutely love it. I had been looking for a chai tea that works wit verismo machines for months n then came across these & thought i d give em a try! Thank god that i did becuz they are unbelievable i drink mine wit a lil bit of cream & its amazing. Honestly better than the chai tea at starbucks stores 5Not for use in Keurig K-CafeI bought these specifically for my new Keruig K-Cafe and they do NOT work. I am not sure what other "K-pod" type devices are out there but these are not designed for Keruig even though they came up when I searched specifically for Keurig Pods. They are really expensive and so it is super annoying these aren't going to work for me. 1
