Five Starshelps me sleep at night 5CalmGreat for anxiety 5Great price and a quality product.Great price and a quality product. 5How to use GABA and melatonin...I've been using GABA for almost 5 years now, and I have no intention to stop anytime soon. It was initially recommended to me by my doctor when I requested a non-big-pharmaceutical option to help with pretty severe insomnia (2-3 hours of sleep per night if I didn't take anything, and for over 10 years), and she recommended I combine it with the melatonin I was already taking. This recommendation changed my life, honestly! It didn't take long before I was also taking it during the day, primarily for meditation and, yes, for playing pool (it counters my A.D.D. pretty good for this). I am a late night bar tender, and rarely go to bed before the sun starts lighting the sky up, which is greatly causing my insomnia situation, so for anyone working graveyard shifts or with similarly poor sleep hours, I highly recommend looking into this! So I currently I take 2-3 when I get up, another 2-3 mid-day (usually to total 5), and then 3-4 with one 3mg melatonin about an hour before bed time. If I wake up before I want to get up (say 2-4 hours early), I'll take 1-2 more and be back asleep in 10-30 minutes. And I always wake up easy (not groggy), normally wake up very refreshed and well slept, and also have more control over getting 7+ hours of sleep each night.What I've learned is that with GABA you have a couple things in play, both affected by how much you take. At least with tablets, the fewer you take, the faster they kick in, and the shorter it lasts... and the more you take, the longer you wait before it kicks in, and the longer it lasts. I can't say I've noticed a great difference in intensity with different dosages, but I can't say there is no difference either... for my purposes, any dosage gets the initial/main job done, eventually. When I take 3-4 tablets at night, it often takes an hour or more before I get the requisite (for me) "niacin flush" sensation, and then it otherwise kicks in. But for sleep it's the melatonin that makes me tired, and the GABA that keeps me sleeping good well into the morning.I've noticed that for myself, one GABA tablet lasts 2-3 hours, two tablets lasts 4-5 hours, three tablets lasts 6-8 hours, and four tablets lasts 8-10 hours. Since I wake up easily out of it, I always take four for sleep unless I know I can't sleep in.Melatonin has a similar, but "opposite" situation with dosages, where one 3mg pill will take longer to kick in, is weaker overall, but lasts longer. If you take more (2-3 pills) they kick in faster, and have more intensity, but don't last as long, making you (fully) wake up faster. I've been taking melatonin almost every night for close to 10 years, and have experimented with it a lot. Taking 3mg gives me 7-8 hours of sleep, 6mg gives me about 5-6 hours of sleep, and 9mg gives me 4-5 hours of sleep, and after each you basically have gone through your deep cycle of sleep and are ready to wake up. 5Great for anxiety/stress reliefI have moderate anxiety on a daily bases, that can be mitigated with as little as 1/8 of 1 tablet of GABA. If I'm having a particularly stressful day (for example, an unreasonable work deadline), I would take a whole, and feel the anxiety/stress melt away. In addition to relaxing, it does make you sleepy, so you have to test doses (by breaking or cutting the tablets) where you find the bare-minimum dose to get relief. 5Five StarsThanks for the quick shipping! Product as described! 5they are working and making feel like I have more energyEnergy and Focus 5Four Starsgood helps me to calm down 4there is a reason that it's not approved by the fdait is possible that this product could help promote balanced brain chemical levels. however, if you have a big enough imbalanced for you to be/or have been placed on ssris (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) it will not take the place of such medications. if you are trying to ween yourself off of your medications, please talk to your doctor before doing so or taking any supplements that promote serotonin/dopamine reuptake. withdrawal can't be difficult if not dangerous if done incorrectly. 3Cloud 9Definitely makes my mind more at ease. I only take them at night because they can make you drowsy, which in my case, is a good thing. 5
