Not worth the eight bucks.Well this is certainly a waste of money. First of all, this product is front heavy. Not heavy overall but when you add batteries to the led lamp on the front the extra wait the head band uncomfortable. Then there is the annoying loupe magnifier which won't stay up out of the way and I finally removed. The flip up part that holds the lens in front of your eyes keeps slipping down two far no matter how much I tighten the adjustments. Oh yes one more annoying thing. You are looking through two lenses bonded together so there is a line right down the middle. I find it very distracting. I won't be sending it back for eight bucks. You get what you pay for. 1Worthless is an understatementI'm confused how this has any reviews above 2 stars. The head band doesn't stay tight and constantly falls off your head or slides down your face. If you can keep it on long enough you'll realize that the magnifiers on the unit are garbage and do not focus until you're laying your head on what ever you're looking at. Below is the distance the magnifying lens focus at.1st set of lenses around 3-4 inches (75-100mm)2nd set of flip down lenses around 2 inches (50mm)Last single flip lens around 1 inch (25mm)This makes this impossible to do anything in front of you because of the lack of space and the great strain it puts on your neck from hunching over your work. Trying to solder with this thing was anything but successful as I had a 400-500 degree iron inches from my face constantly bumping this headset.Save yourself some time and don't let the cheap price fool you into thinking it's worth a gamble.. It's not! 1Wish I could return itThis is the first item I have purchased through Amazon that I have tried to return. I am a Prime member and have purchased many items. This head magnifier provides magnification only when the item I am trying to view is within 2-3 inches of my face. Even then, the magnification is like looking through rippling water with some areas being clear and others murky. This product cannot be returned through Amazon and I haven't been able to figure out how to return it through the distributor. How does one learn of the return policies? Granted, it was only $10 but that is $10 I could have spent on something useful. This is not a good product and I will probably not purchase anything from SE again since I can't seem to return it. 1 WARNING!!!!!..... Arrived broken and its non exchangeable!!As I opened the package I heard a slight rattling. I found a little part and a tiny spring(a photo of broken pieces included) that Im assuming goes with the flip down magnifying lens. Because of this broken part the flip down lens falls out instead of flipping down.One of the band adjuster turning knob is frozen...you cant move it.I get so frustrated when things are shipped to me broken. Especially when it's a non returnable item the reviews tell me. The mechanism that adjusts the band is of such poor quality that it cannot hold when pressure is exerted from putting it on. I had a great magnifier head band once, but one of my children broke it. I wish I could remember where I got it, or who made it. Darn!Another fault I find with this particular headband magnifier is that it has absolutely no padding on the portion that sits on the forehead. Very uncomfortable. Then, too, the magnifying areas are so poor, they make me feel dizzy. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone. I'm looking for something more comfortable and made better. 1Penny-wise. Pound-foolish.As many others have posted here, there are a few good things to say about this Head magnifier, the biggest one being the price. My question is, why not spend just a few extra bucks improving the awful quality of this thing, raise the price by that few bucks, and create a customer loyalty second only to Apples.My head magnifier arrived in typical fantastic Amazon time. But I could hear a rattling around inside the box -- never a good sign. I opened up the outside box, then inside box to see in a clear plastic bag, with the magnifier, along with some small black plastic pieces, a tiny coil, and the flip down magnifying lens all sloshing about.Apparently, some users were lucky enough to have the extra flip down lens work, though not that well (it would lodge against their foreheads). Mine never had a chance. Look at the picture. Close inspection revealed why everything had come apart. The two plastic female "hinges" (with red circles) that the plastic male ended flip-down slotted into, had broken cleanly off. I'd imagine the flopping about during transit had flapped the lens so much, it just broke off loose.So who to blame? Was it a product deficiency? Yes. Was it a packing issue? Yes, though it's hard to blame Amazon or the delivery chain. Sona Enterprises, the manufacturer, needs to put some of those twist ties you get in everything else that rolls out of China. If they could secure down that extra lens flap, then this breakage wouldn't happen.So, I can only review 2 of the 3 lenses. And the results? As nice as everyone else here is saying. It's not watchsmith or surgeon quality, but it does the job. Keep your fingerprints off and keep it from getting scratched, and I could see these producing good results for a while, or at least until another part simply drops off.And see the coil part in my picture (with a green circle)? That thing is about as thin as a human hair. Just how much extra would it be to add in a high quality coil? Or metal parts for the hinges and knobs?What a disappointment!! PLEASE...CHARGE $2 MORE and I'll happily pay it if it will keep this poorly constructed thing from falling apart simply in transit. As they say, the outlook of the engineers at Sona seems to be one of being penny wise, but pound foolish.I can't figure out of this situation is eligible for a return or what? 2I love this! Okay so it's built cheap and feels ...I love this! Okay so it's built cheap and feels kind of cheap, BUT I figured being less than ten bucks that it may not even be useable. It definitely is. Oh and how sweet it has made my life. I do a lot of work with microelectronics and have been using the magnifying glass stand with alligator clips which gets very frustrating when I'm needing different angles every few seconds and better lighting. This has 2 LED's in it that position perfectly. And the 3 lenses give different degrees of magnification. 2 bi-lenses and one single eye lense.Pros: Hand free magnification, secure fit on head that adjusts, ability to raise the entire front for normal vision, clear magnification, 2 LED's, LOW priceCons: Um, kidna cheaply made. Now, for me this is not a con because I expected the quality. But for someone wanting a professionally made headset this may not work. But for me, I can so anything with this and I'll just not drop it :POver all, love it and very happy.. here's was I see through the lense on this pcb board. 5Great for crafting mini-star wars figures!This is great - the cost is super low, the solution it provides me is great! I manufacture my very own Star Wars miniatures - before these lenses, I was working blind - my miniatures are around 2CM tall! Just like Micro Machines! I need to sculpt, injection mold plastic, carve, paint, and finish these tiny things! These lenses allow me to work in that miniature world with ease! 5The reviews of this item are mostly good. This tells me that I can't trust the ...First and most important that buyers need to be aware: you CANNOT return this item. The knob that adjusts the headband's width does not work; the whole thing keeps sliding down my face no matter how many times I adjusted the knob that's supposedly tightening the headband. As soon as I requested a return, then that's when I found out this item is not returnable! The problem is that there's nowhere on item sale's web page indicating that the item is non-returnable. If it makes it clear to me when I considered buying it, I would not have purchased this item. The reviews of this item are mostly good. This tells me that I can't trust the reviews posted on Amazon. 1I really really wanted to like these, but they were too laden with elementary ...I really really wanted to like these, but they were too laden with elementary functions that were just not that good, not precise enough for what it is they are supposed to help with. They barely fit on my head which to be fair is bigger than average, but not that much bigger, the three lens plates that pop down don't even come close to focusing in tandem to maximize the focal length the item touts in its description not to mention the one closest to your eye is like, impossible to flip down it's so stiff, and the little loupe type round lens is of very poor quality. The range of focal length where items are clear in each view is confining, the light is not intuitively placed nor does it actually maximize it's effectiveness as a gun on the Maginot Line could not turn completely around, this light stops short of being able to illuminate straight down by far. Now the adjustment knob which held it (barely) on my head has fallen off so they lie in a box on the top shelf awaiting the exhaustion of my little project list to deplete by a dozen items or more before I even look at them again. Based on all the positive reviews by which I decided to buy these I don't count out the possibility that I got a lemon, so there's that to consider, however, I still maintain there are just too many basic operational issues. Yoctosun makes a version of this device which I ended up buying a few years later. Just search Yoctosun here on Amazon and you can find those. 1
