My only complaint is that it does not stay cold for as long as I would prefer. But I also ice for longer than is recommended. 4Clay beats Gel Hands DownWe are a physical therapy practice. Our PTs and assistants are very happy with the product. Our franchise required that we buy gel ice packs, and we did, but I decided to give these clay products a try. They are very good, keep cold longer. this was our second purchase.NOTE: I believe the manufacturer says that this product can be used for hot packs as well. While we have not tried it, I would not recommend it because the heat would deteriorate the plastic cover. This is my assumption. I only boiled it, never microwaved. The surface in one place bubbles and one of the seams has opened allowing the clay to ooze out. It's not as heavy as my previous one, which was an issue if my shoulder was really inflamed. The construction seems like it will stand the test of time.
