Customer Reviews

Very supportive. Nice cushion.Bought my first pair at the podiatrist office after a foot exam. Been having some foot pain for a few months. I liked them right away. I've been moving these inserts from one pair of shoes to the next, testing them out and figuring out how more I would need. Very supportive. Nice cushion. I had to look on Amazon and see if I could find them here. Obviously much less expensive than the doctor's office. I'm going to use these in my field boots and in a few of my shoes where I have the room for them. If you have shoes that are pretty tight, these may be a bit much. 5A podiatrist recommended these to me, and later found out the podiatrist MISDIAGNOSED me.A podiatrist recommended these to me. They are comfortable and prevent pain in my plantar fascia band for both feet. They are a little thick and may not work for dress shoes. Because of the thickness, they may work for some boots and some walking shoes. In order to fit them into my Ecco dress shoes, I had to use a shoe stretcher, which some people may not want to do.Otherwise, these insoles are comfortable and prevent pain after a few months of use. They seem to be built for comfort, rather than support/durability. As such, they may not last as long and I may have to buy a new pair soon (I can tell because they are softer than the other PowerStep Insoles that I have tried and my feet have permanently indented these insoles after a few weeks).**edit 5/30/18: HOLY COW!!! The price actually doubled since I first bought these in September 2017. I will have to wait for a price drop*****EDIT: 9/24/18: I went to see another podiatrist. It turns out that I have "tendontis of the interior tibia tendon" not plantar fascitis.Being misdiagnosed, I was performing stretches and exercises for plantar fascititis that just exacerbated the problem. it is good to get a second opinion. Despite the first podiatrist recommending these insoles to me, I still have considerable foot pain after walking a lot at the end of the day, and these insoles lose elasticity after a few weeks.-with "tendontis of the interior tibia tendon", i received a brace and other treatment that the PowerStep Comforlast alone COULD NOT DO. 3Perfect Cushioning for Extremely Painful Plantar FasciitisI'm a huge fan of the Powerstep line of insoles (They work really well for me). This particular set is best for when my plantar fasciitis is at its worst. They don't offer much in the way of arch support, but they are super squishy and give me the cushioning I need. Once my plantar fasciitis starts to go away, I move up to the Blue Pinnacle or Red Pinnacle Maxx, which offer a lot more support, but don't have as much cushioning. I highly recommend Powerstep over all other brands of insoles. I've tried others and this brand consistently works well for me. 5these are not at all like powerstep's longtime line of insolesAs others noted, these are not at all like powerstep's longtime line of insoles. I understood they were not rigid, but expected a nice level of cushier arch support I figured I'd add powerstep arch boosters if they weren't enough under the arch. Unfortunately, these have only that squishy impression of arch support that just compacts under body weight. That's what so many other OTC brands have, and not what I'd expect with the powerstep name on them. Worse, they are sadly designed in a way that they simply won't work with powerstep arch boosters. Powerstep's niche has been to provide the real arch support that other brands do not. When they bought out stable step, they should have added something to these very "meh" insoles. Regular powersteps, like pinnacle, are far more "stable" then "stable step" but it would be great to have a sort of marriage of more cushioning with that effective powerstep heel-arch shape and support. Yes, these give you cushion and feel great at first. They are OK in that they are better than barefoot or a totally flat insole, but NO, they will not give you the real arch support you need to stay on your feet for long if you are prone to heel spurs / plantar fasciitis. 3Foot pain problem solved by these PowerstepsBought on recommendation from person I trust who sells footware for living. Would rather pay less for off-the-shelf models, but found these to be worth the greater but still reasonable cost. Painful metatarsal to cuboid joint impaired standing walking. No more. These--plus houseshoes used on hard floors--solved the problem. Bought more, well worth the money. Also, manufacturer gives good guidance on which inserts to buy for which particular problems. Needed more cushion, not more arch support. 5Powerstep, the way to go!!Powerstep has got this one right! Great support with outstanding cushion. Be mindful 13 to 13 1/2 may run small....you may need a 14. I have issue with my feet, from Achilles tendentious, planter fasciitis, to heel spurs from years of standing due to construction work. I have had orthotics' since 1987 from several foot doctors over the years. I use the whole Powerstep line and place in all my shoes and sneakers. If you wear work boots and have issues these are a must. Most shoes do not have the support. If you on the heavy side, large frame well then ComfortLast was built for us big guys in mind. Remember a strong solid steel shank work boot with these Comfortlast inserts for support and you will not be fatigued by the end of the day. (side note stay away from steel toe unless required, remember the steel could get crushed and take your toes off). If you feet feel good, you fell good, your happy life is good! 5Great For Excercising - Too Soft For Extended Use With Flat FeetThese Comfortlast insoles make the 4th style I have tried and the 3rd made by Powerstep. They are a good insole and very comfortable as the name implies. However, for my flat feet, they are just a little too soft to give me the support my arches require for extended periods of time. So, although a very good product, I must keep them exclusively in my workout shoes, which get used for about an hour a day. In that application they excel because they absorb more shock than the others. This is very important for me as I've had 2 knee surgeries and I do lots of calisthenics and running in place on a concrete floor. For this use the Comfortlast are superior to my other inserts (Protech, Pinnacle & Superfeet). By-the way, although I like them all, the Powerstep Protechs are my overall favorite. 4Arch too high for meI love the Powerstep ProTech inserts. I wanted something that might stay in a pair of shoes that have a cupped heel, but an open back. I wear them around the house and do not care what it looks like - I wanted some arch support and for it to stay in the shoe. The rubber-like bottom of these seemed a good option.Out of the box, there were softer and more flexible than the ProTech - so far so good, I thought. The arch felt firm - again, seemed good. They are a teensy bit narrower in the toe box - that concerned me a bit since the ProTech's are barely wide enough. Oddly, while they do not cover the full sole of the shoe in the toe box area, my toes were always supported - at least for the few minutes I wore them.I put them in my casual shoes that I use in the house first. The arch was much too high and too wide - at least for my foot - and it forced me to walk on the outside of my foot. Now, maybe this would be good for a someone who pronates; since I have wider feet and already tend to walk a bit on the outer edge of my foot, this was not good at all!I thought maybe it was the shoe, so I put them in a pair of Saucony Cohesion shoes I had close by. It was indeed better, but the arch support was not at all comfortable for my foot. I have a moderately wide foot with a high arch and high instep. When I compared it to the ProTech, there are two notable differences.First, in the ProTech, there is no material beneath the arch support - it is rigidly formed and when you put weight on it, it can flex downward. In the Comfortlast, the whole arch area is filled with a softish squishy material. It seems that it would give, but if the shoe does not have a flat bottom (which my casual shoes did not), that would be forced even higher. These will not work in a shoe that has any contour in the arch area! But, even in the Saucony, there isn't really anyplace in the shoe bottom for the arch support to flatten into - hence it feels too high for me.Second, it seems that the arch area is slightly different. It is almost impossible to be sure as I do not have 3-D modeling, :-), but my best visual comparisons seem to show that the arch area is slightly longer - toe to heel - and slightly wider. All in all, these do not work for me in any shoe that I have, so are going back. 2Very comfortableLots of cushioning, and good support. If you have a pair of shoes with a lot of built in arch support, but want a little extra cushion, these are perfect! I've tried the Powerstep original in my current tennis shoes, and it's too much pressure on my arches. It's too bad that you don't get a decent insole with 90% of the shoes sold today, but that's generally the case. My only complaint is the price, but at least their made in the U.S. 5I like the extra cushionI like the extra cushion, that makes very comfortable. However, I still have pain after 8 working hours. Then I read their manual and found out this model isn't fit my situation ... This model doesn't work out for me, but their manual gives a perfect suggestion! 3
