Would definitely buy againHaven't had this pair for long so can't speak to how durable they are, but I can say that these have seriously really helped with my metatarsal foot/toe pain & are much better than the OTC 3/4 inserts from local store pharmacies that I tried prior to trying this insert. I can do the activities that I enjoy that require lots of walking again. I've been able to add running back into my workouts.While this insert so far appears to be just what I needed, I only gave it four stars due to the loud "clacking" sound they make with each step due I take to the partial length hard plastic section on the bottom of the insert. The hard plastic portion is a necessary portion, but it makes all my shoes should kind of like I'm walking in cleats everywhere I go. At the gym this really isn't so much of a problem, but when worn in regular shoes to other everyday places the sound makes things rather awkward. When worn at work the sound can be rather annoying to me & others & a distraction or an interrupting sound during meetings & conference calls. If I could find a way to silence this sound, then these would be a perfect 5 out of 5, but even with the sound I would still buy these again. 4Pedag V. sport insert, metatarsal fits perfectly.Pedag V. sport insert with metatarsal fits perfectly. The metatarsal bump is just the right size, not too big. Fits me perfectly. Hint: works great in lose fitting dress pumps to cushion the front of the foot.I have been using for 12+ years in hiking shoes, ski boots, walking shoes and dress shoes. In appropriate sizes for each. They have low profile styles for open toe shoes.Better than another Company's sport metatarsal insert, their bump is huge and leaves my feet bruised. 5NOT 18s!I was STOKED to see these listed as available in a size 18. They ARE NOT. I'm not sure they're even 16s.This is not Amazon's fault -- the packaging makes the claim, too.Now, if you're also unfortunate enough to be wildly outside the normal range of sizes, you'll know that a 17 is NOT a 17 is NOT a 17. But these are _woefully_ too small. To standardize for you bigger-footed folks: I *love* Keen 17s. These size "18" insoles are much too small for a size 17 Keens. I got 18s because nothing out at the end of the spectrum is ever reliable, and I figured they'd either be close enough, or could be cut down if I got lucky and they were actually too big. Nope.Otherwise, they're nice. Supportive, seemingly pretty rugged and well made. Maybe people with normal-sized feet will find them worth every penny. Unfortunately, they are fraudulently labelled for the outer bounds of the size. Your mileage / sizing may/will vary. 1good news--these work wellI developed a mysterious metatarsal problem (kind of a collapsed transverse arch, probably the result of a bunyan structure with that foot, rather than a specific injury), so that the ball of my foot really hurt when I walked--a small hard permanent blister that felt like a sharp rock. I am fairly fit and like to walk every day for exercise, so this problem was very disturbing. I first tried various supermarket shoe inserts (not cheap by the way) which did absolutely nothing. I was reluctant to consult a podiatrist since my health insurance is mediocre, so I spent some time researching what was available and found my way to the Pedag website, which impressed me--though I was still skeptical whether these inserts would make any difference. The good news is that they really have helped a lot. (They are also comfortable.) I put them into my athletic shoes and experienced immediate relief:I went from hobbling to able to resume my walks. Highly recommended and worth the price. The only disadvantage is that being raised slightly in my shoes my toes chafe a little against my shoes. I suppose I could tear out the lining of the shoe and this would probably be fine, but I haven't done this yet. 5Very Comfortable & WashableI bought these to fit in my travel shoes. I like them so much, I have another pair to wear in my running shoes.My current travel shoes are Merrell "Dassie Buckle" - Black. The insoles in those shoes are not very good & would not provide enough arch, cushion & heel support for long days (I average 13 miles per day when I am travelling). I have a small bunion on one foot so I like the extra width in this shoe. I ordered the size 8M (38.5 EU) shoe & the 38 in this Pedag. The 38 Pedag insole was too small but it fits perfectly in my running shoe. I ordered the 39 Pedag & it fits in this Merrell. This was the perfect combination shoe for all day sightseeing.These insoles have plenty of arch support & cushion. I need extra cushion in my forefoot & these work really well. They keep my foot at the proper alignment in my shoe so my legs & feet feel good all day! And they are washable. I just throw them in the wash & hang dry.Pull the insole out of your shoe at the end of the day so they can dry out. Feet sweat more than you think.Merrell Women's Dassie Buckle Slip-On Shoe,Black,10 M US I ordered Size 8M. 5Nice. True to size, very comfortable in my running shoes.I didn't like the insoles on a pair of "top of the line" Saucony running shoes so I went on a little odyssey to find the right "performance" insole. Ended up trying Superfeet (several reviews have referenced "Shurefeet" but I'm guessing they meant the former), Spenco, Ecco and these. These are the winner for my running shoes. True to size, exactly the right width for my size 12 shoes, and I like the kind of rubber padding they use better than all of the aforementioned except Spenco and Ecco. But for overall support and quality, this is a good product. Recommended. Note: They do have a slight lump in the arch/center area, which is by design, so some people might initially feel as though that's weird, but I can tell you it totally eliminates foot fatigue on my usual 1.5-3mi daily runs. 5OK, but not as good as SurefeetThey are cheaper than Surefeet, but beware, they are not has solid and use a foam topping that has a limited life expectancy. I expected more for $18. The Surefeet are hard plastics and can be washed, I still have several pairs that are over two years old without degradation. I know these may only last months. I spend more next time. Thanks. PS> Can't return because I already cut them to fit. 2Old one was better.The met pad is good, but they are not as thick as the previous version.. The new heel "cushion" feels like a bump. Not good. The old one was better but they do not last long. Also they are narrow, so I buy larger and cut.UPDATE- The old version did not have rigid plastic section- difficult for sports, so not sure why it is called Sport. Also after one month plastic section started ungluing on one. Both make fart noise when I walk. Looking for replacement already. 3Great Support and Padding in Active ShoesI bought three pairs of these. I used them in my running shoes and tap shoes instead of the insoles that came in them. I also put them in my Sketchers sneakers and wedge boots for extra padding. They pad the area where I have a Morton's neuroma on one foot, but are not too aggressive for my other foot. Love this product. 5Metatarsal lift is effective.I had surgery for a Morton's neuroma and ended up with a knot of scar tissue in my foot. The metatarsal lift in this orthotic relieved the pressure on the scar tissue so I don't feel like I'm walking on a lump all the time. I put these in my hiking boots and shoes, but then I bought these for all my shoes after I developed a neuroma in the other foot. They are much better than having another surgery! I tried many adhesive pads under innersoles and could never get them to stay positioned correctly, even using additional tape or glue. 5
