Ahhh Relief!!I am the not-so-proud owner of two elbow straps. Before buying this one, I bought the Ace Dial version. I hated it! I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. It is far more comfortable. I believe it will last longer too due to its construction. It is stitched along the sides whereas it's more expensive competitor is not.Don't think that just because another version costs more, it's better. 5It really works for tennis elbowI tore a ligament or tendon or something in my elbow two months ago while lifting one side of a heavy desk. I got a compression support sleeve (like 6" sleeve for your elbow) which didn't really do anything. My arm was so sore for weeks, especially when I bent it completely in or flexed it completely out. A friend suggested that I try one of these Mueller tennis elbow pads, and it's working miracles for me. No pain in my elbow when I wear it, so I can mow the lawn or carry heavy things, and it seems to be speeding up the healing because when I take it off my elbow feels great for a few hours until I put it back on again. I will wear it as long as necessary until I'm fully healed, which at this rate will only be a few weeks at the most. Wonderful product! 5Good support for elbow tendonitisThe strap goes on easily and the velcro holds well. The bubble in the strap for pressure is a good feature, except mine deflated after 2 uses for some reason. I wasn't using it in any extreme manner, just gardening and exercise. I put a small plastic pad in the spot where the bubble was and it works fine. 3UncomfortableWhat I like about this elbow brace is that it is not made of neoprene, which always makes me break out in a rash. However, there are some design flaws that make it uncomfortable to wear. First, there's a plastic piece that is on the inside of the brace and goes next to the skin. When tightened, the plastic digs into my arm. It is soft plastic, so I was able to cut it off with a pair of scissors. There's no reason for it to be there, and doesn't impact the strength of the brace when it's gone. The second thing that makes it uncomfortable is the width of the hook and loop closure. It runs right up to the edge of the brace so when I bend my arm the scratchy hooks rub my arm raw. I tried cutting it back to the stitching line, but it still goes to far to the edge for comfort. If I turn the brace around so the hook side is on the outside of my arm, the bump that is supposed to press against the sore area is on the wrong side.If they updated this brace by removing the inside plastic piece and making the hook and loop narrower, I would recommend it. But, as it is, it's too uncomfortable to wear. 3Velcro loses it's grip in a short timeHad this elbow w/gel pad for a few months now, and I would not recommend buying it as the velcro does not have a good grip now. The velcro comes away from the rest of it at times and has lost it's grip. I have been wearing one of these for a very long time and thought I would try Mueller brand, but does not compare to 3M. Disappointed. 2Working well for me so farMy elbow pain has improved greatly with the past 3 days using this product. It is easy to put on and adjust, feels comfortable enough (considering that it has to constrict your arm to do any good) and so far I have no negative issues. The price was very reasonable and it arrived quickly. It fits under a dress shirt and is unnoticeable under the sleeve. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt, it doesn't look bad at all. I am able do do yard work and use a computer mouse for long periods of time now...I had been in a great deal of pain previously. I do remove the support at night, but have been sleeping better because my elbow is not hurting while I am tying to get to sleep. As inexpensive as this item is, I'd recommend that you try it if you have elbow/arm pain of the type referred to as "tennis elbow" (lateral epichondylitis--look it up to see if this is is what is affecting you). You may find, as I have, that it alleviates the pain (and I am hoping that it may allow the area to heal). 5Works for my tennis elbow. Relieves pain and pressure. Highly recommend.I just received this today and so far so good. I put it one right away straight out of the package and it works. I developed tennis elbow from playing tennis and swimming. A basic wrap was useless. Now, I see why. The gel pad here placed on the outside of my forearm just below the elbow puts some pressure on the painful spot and helps relieve it. The pain is minimal now when I do forget and use my right arm.Happy with it and highly recommend. FYI: read the instructions on the package. The large fold out manual inside with it is basically useless. The type is tiny and the instructions are for all their products. You have to look for this one. Easy to use and clean. 4No inner padding for nerve; stinky product despite washing. What happened Mueller? This is not a good tennis elbow support b/c there is no support for the nerve i.e. an inner padding pressing on the ulnar nerve that runs through the elbow; previous Mueller Tennis Elbow Supports and Braces have had this padding but not this one. In addition, despite washing by hand with woolite three times, it still stinks to high heaven. 1Not bad; could be betterIt's not bad, but it could be better. The velcro is fairly close to the edges and the part that wraps around to provide tension is as large as the rest of the wrap (i.e. same width from one end to the other). This means that unless one carefully positions the piece, flexing your arm will have your skin rub against the edge of the velcro, and it does not take long to irritate it (perhaps I'm a wimp). That said, it's still usable if one rotates the wrap such that the rough parts are under the forearm and not subject to pinching the skin.Overall, for the price, a pretty good buy. 4Doesn't have any stretch, so doesn't work as neededThe product is nicely made, but doesn't have any elasticity, so it doesn't work as needed. I don't know about you, but my arm is not a uniform thickness along the entire forearm. It tapers from my elbow to my wrist. But this arm band is designed to wrap around a perfectly uniform cylinder. So the edge nearest my elbow is crushing into my arm, but the edge nearest my wrist has enough room for me to put a finger under. And since it has no flex, when I make a fist (like to hold something), it's really tight, but when my arm is relaxed, the arm band almost slides down. It's not worth the trouble to return a $7 item, so I'll add it to my collection of occasionally-needed ortho stuff. But I'm going to keep looking for something that works for me. 2
