wide calfThey stay up, are not too snug and i would not put them in the dryer. 5Tough yet pretty!I'm wearing these purple ones as we speak! I'm in shock over the previous review, because unless and until you actually try them on and put them on your feet and legs, you have NO idea just how strong and soft they are. They don't seem to need reinforcement and I am in shock over that, because who doesn't have toenails that don't get trimmed every now and then. It is almost impossible to get runs, even if you're trying. I have bought over a dozen of these and love them to pieces - had open heart surgery in 2014 and my legs have edema off and on since. They're pretty and very sturdy and SOFT! 5I wasted money.They were way too tight, cut too small.I wasted money... 2cheaply madedon't waste your money, these are cheaply made, no reinforcement in toe or heel, look like cheap knee highs you buy at the grocery store. 1Works wellGreat brand and colors-can't go wrong in my opinion having to wear compression stockings every day! 5Excellent quality moderate compression knee highs ...I have to wear compression stockings daily due to a medical issue. Mine hasn't progressed yet to the point where I need "super" strong compression -- my doc recommended 18-20mmHg strength, and I occasionally wear 20-30mmHg (maybe once a week). I've tried a LOT of different brands, and these Celeste Stein really are the best of the moderately-priced moderate compression bunch.These are tight -- they're SUPPOSED to be tight! They're not your usual "support" knee highs; they are intended to provide graduated compression to help prevent fluid build-up in the lower legs due to reflux. I've lived through two bouts of stasis ulcers caused by this build-up, and I'm willing to do just about anything to prevent a recurrence. So far, since I've been consistent in wearing compression knee-highs, I have not had a recurrence. These Celest Stein socks are part of that routine.I need the wide-calf version of these because my calves measure around 19". These fit just fine and aren't too difficult to put on if I take my time with them. I usually wear the plain black version (occasionally nude), but I also have several pairs of the fun printed versions of these wide-calf socks. I haven't noticed any problems with quality at all -- I actually like that there's no heel "knit in" -- it makes getting them on easier and I think improves wear. None of mine have developed runs, and I wash them by hand after wear. So far, no quality issues at all.Highly recommended! 5
