Great deal and great tea!I love tea, and this was such a great deal. It comes as 2 sealed boxes inside a larger box, which is nice because being the only person in my household drinking tea means that I can't go through it fast, so being that one is sealed is a BIG plus since it will help it maintain its freshness.One bag makes a gallon which is enough to last me about half a week, so by that math it would take me about six months to get through this pack, so at the price I bought it at, it is a steal! It comes out to like, .20 cents a gallon which I pay about $2 for less than a gallon for premade tea, so this is a big money saver.The only "con" that I have is that the bags sometimes pop open after brewing if you squeeze them...which I do to get all the tasty black tea out, but just be mindful of the grounds and it will be fine.5My experience using a Mr. Coffee 3 qt. Iced Tea MakerI recently bought a 3 quart Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker. These tea bags were listed as an item frequently bought with that product so I picked up a box to go with it. When I first started using them, the tea just turned out so cloudy and thick you could barely even see the ice cubes in the glass. And that was with the brew strength set to mild on the tea maker. However, since I had 45 of these bags left, I really wanted to figure out a way to make them work. So, I made a change. One change, and the tea made from these bags went from borderline undrinkable, to damn near picture perfect (IMHO). That change was simply how I positioned the bag in the brew basket. At first I was laying the bag horizontally on the bottom of the brew basket so the water from the shower head would fall directly onto the bag. I guess that's just too intense. All I did was instead, stand the bag upright against the wall opposite the shower head. That's it. Maybe that's obvious from the beginning to other people, but it definitely wasn't for me.TL;DR: If you're using a Mr. Coffee 3 qt. Iced Tea Maker, don't lay the bags flat on the bottom of the brew basket. Rather, lean them up against the side standing upright.5Extremely bad box.i have purchased this tea previosly and it was fine. this latest box most of the tea bags were obviously broken and there was loose tea thru out the box. By the looks of most of the bags I checked I am realy wondering if the fault is with Lipton. There were small and some large slots in the tea bags that were not sealed. the openings were exactly where the tea bags should have been sealed. It definitely was not in the handling by UPS or anyone in the warehouse.1Makes the perfect iced teaMy husband is practically addicted to iced tea, so I was excited to find a way that we could make it ourselves. It s so much cheaper to make your owned iced tea (even when factoring in the cost of the tea bag, lemons, and sugar) than buying pre-made stuff. And you can control the ingredients more. I boil up approximately a gallon of water, toss one of these bags in until the tea is mostly cool, then pour it into a pitcher and add cup white sugar and the juice from 2 lemons. Bam, perfect iced tea.5Copy Cat MacAlister's Deli sweet teaThank you Lipton!If you live in the south east, you may know that MacAlister's Deli has THE BEST TEA sweet or unsweet.I don't know if they use Lipton tea in the stores but I have managed to perfect my home-made gallon batches of sweet tea to the point even my family thinks it comes from MacAlisters!!Hot or cold brew, or even as sun tea I haven't found any brands in the large bags that come close to the perfect flavor I get from the Lipton bags. I use four bags per gallon since we all like our tea strong. Four bags with a four minute brew for hot brewed makes a gallon that holds up to ice! Ice doesn't water it down!The price on Amazon is the cheapest price I have found.5LOVE THESE GALLON SIZE TEA BAGS!!!I am just going to admit to my ridiculous laziness with opening 14 individually wrapped Lipton tea bags to make a gallon of iced tea & just own it!!! I realize it really is not that hard to open the tea bags but for some crazy reason I just hate doing it! Which brings me to my review of & my absolute LOVE of these Lipton gallon size ice tea bags!!! When I discovered these perfectly sized Lipton tea bags for making the PERFECT strength gallon of iced tea (which my family drinks in about 24 hours) I became so thrilled & yes admittedly a bit too excited over a simple tea bag that I had to tell my fellow iced tea drinkers! I mean it's saved me at least a full 10 minutes ( ) of time in opening 14 tea bags & tying them together for brewing our daily gallon of iced tea! LOL!!5Good tea, big enough bag to easily make gallons at a time!I live for this stuff. It made a good, strong tea--and I drink it daily. I've used it for years, and it can sometimes be spotty to catch 'out in the wild' in a supermarket, but being on Amazon is a huge save for me. The packets are big, meant to go into a large container vs. a cup. That's fine, as I make it in a large gallon container, refrigerate it, and have iced tea ready to go. I don't drink soda (WAY too sweet), but this really tastes nice. You can let it steep for a full 24 hours if you want a nice bold taste, and the bag holds up for a long time (I have, at times, left it in the fridge for a week while out of town, and the tea--while very strong--did not taste off. I like a good, clean tea, and have used this particular product for at least the last 15-20 years. Love it.5Perfect replacement with a bit of workThis is just what I needed, except the on-off door could not go to "off" because it was now hitting a capacitor on the new circuit board that was in a different location than the original. I read some reviews where people heated up the solder and bent these down, but all I did was remove the sliding plastic piece and cut away the plastic around where the capacitor is now located. Just be slow and careful and don't cut away too much...you still want the plastic to cover the optic sensor if you want to turn it off. Very simple installation except for the capacitor being relocated. Otherwise 5 stars.4For The Serious Ice Tea DrinkerIf you like ice tea dark and not the wimpy tea served in most restaurants, this is the way to go. Shown is a 1 gallon Gatorade container than I now use for ice tea. One bag in the jug, fill it up and let it sit. I don't do it out in the sun, I just fill it with hot water and the results are the same. "Sun Brewed" is a marketing gimmick, this works just as well.Previously purchased at Sam's Club, I had to buy right here on Amazon as Sam's stopped carrying it in the stores.Good product and I have used Lipton Tea since 1987 as I am not a coffee drinker.5Not the same as it used to be - powdery - nasty taste!!!I have the Mr Coffee Iced tea maker - Have had it for a few years. The first box I received ( hubby bought it several years ago) was fine. Over time I had purchased two separate boxes at different times. I could not drink them! I dumped every batch I made. I thought it was me at first until hubby tasted it. Then i thought it was the tea maker ( bought a new one) nope..was not that. Then I thought maybe I got bad batches..then i read all the comments regarding Lipton changing their tea! WHY!!!! It tastes horrible now!!!!If anyone has a suggestion for a company that sells the gallon bags ( to fit in my iced tea cafe ) comparable to the old Lipton please share as I am not wasting more money on this grossness.1
