Where do I begin with this review...Where do I begin with this review... This tape has revived my workout. I was experiencing pain in my knees after working out and I thought I would have to take an extended break. I narrowed it down to it being partially due to my work out and the other part to me having to sit all day in an office chair.I actually purchased the smaller package of this tape from my local sporting goods store at the recommendation of my sister in law and shortly discovered that it was one of the best things I could have ever done for my knees. I have experienced minimal pain in my knees when doing squats and lunges.I have tried some of the other competitor tapes, which are just meh..ok, there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the tape from the day you put it on to the day you take it off, between this brand and the others. Plus, I have a huge appreciation for the precut strips, makes applying the tape much easier.Lastly, they include a poster, guide, and video support that shows you how to apply the tape to your affected area.I would and have highly recommended this tape! 5Works Great! This stuff is the way to go! I've tried several brands and this one stays well - at least 4 days for my mom's bone on bone knees - the taping really helps relieve the pain so that she can walk well. She showers just about every day. Don't waste your time on the less expensive stuff - even the less expensive KT. If you want something that stays stuck, this is it.Oh - make sure to use the correct technique. As you lay down the tape, don't stretch the first inch and a half. Stretch it about 25% in the middle, and then again, don't stretch the last inch and a half as you lay the tape down on the skin. Also, if you cut the tape in half, make sure to use scissors to make all of the corners that are now sharp, to be rounded. Otherwise, the sharp corners will start to pull away and you won't get your 4 days or more out of it. 5Does not hold adhesion, very disappointedI have been thoroughly disappointed with the KT tape Pro series. A couple of months ago I bought the regular series, which is made of cotton, and was pleased with the results. The back of the box claimed that the KT tape Pro version would stick longer, that it was waterproof, and that it gave extra support so I was excited for the upgrade. I use the product for my knees to relieve joint pain while running and the first time I used the Pro version, the tape fell off one mile into my run. I saw that Amazon recommended an adhesive glue spray to help keep the tape on and ordered that. While I waited for the spray glue to arrive, I continued using the Pro series tape with similarly awful results. The glue arrived and I have used it several times. The tape now holds another mile or two of my run, but never makes it through the entire way. I am not sure what the point of a product is if it does not fulfill the single purpose it was meant to fulfill. Overall this has been a waste of $80 (including the purchase of the spray glue). I cannot verify that the KT tape Pro performs as terribly for other injuries, but I can say that I would not recommend it for anybody for their knees. 1Great Product and More Bang for my Buck!My entire family uses KT Tape Pro! I use it for a bad knee and my daughters use it for a variety of areas, including feet/ankle (plantar faciatis), , lower back, shoulder and Achilles tendon. We found that the Pro stays on much longer than the regular, so that's now the only thing we use. Lasts up to a week even with regular showering. I just recently discovered this extra large size and the way we go through it, it costs a lot less than buying the smaller 20-count packages. I wish these came in more colors other than just the beige and black, as we like the neon colors (pink, lime green and royal blue are very popular in our house!). We love KT Tape and will continue using it! 5Great ProductI purchased this for my son who is experiencing pain in his heal. The product goes on just like the videos on Youtube I watched. The only thing is after a long 2 hour football practice some of the tape seems to be peeling on the top toward the shin area. That's not a problem though as this roll came with 150 pieces. I don't know if I like the idea of leaving it on and showering with it; it seems that would be a breeding ground for germs? Overall the product goes on very easily and does not kink like regular sports tape. Highly recommend if your little athlete is experiencing heal/ankle pain. 5KT Original vs KT PRO vs KT Pro ExtremeWhy KT Tape? Because it not only gives support to injured areas, it engages other muscles around the weak area so you can focus on strengthening the weak muscles (instead of worrying about them). I have been battling a knee injury for several years and have used many kinds of braces, sleeves, and wraps. And while those do give support to my knee, KT enables me to safely push past what those weak muscles can normally do because the KT tape is activating and engaging all the muscles and tendons connected to the knee.Baseline: FYI I wear 3 pieces of the pre-cut KT Tape on my knee (watched multiple videos on doctor & physical trainer websites for the correct application). I have an active on-the-feet job, workout on machines at the gym weekdays and shower once a day. As a baseline for comparing the longevity of the different tapes I would consider my lifestyle slightly above average for most people and average for active/athletic people.KT Original: is great for every day use and rehabbing an injury. The texture is soft and because this type has been out the longest their are dozens of different colors and patterns! The one drawback is if you plan on showering a lot or sweating a lot, the tape starts peeling in the first 24-48 hrs.KT Pro: I think is the best KT product and perfect if you are the always moving, active, or athletic type. If applied on properly the tape lasts a solid 3 days. Packaging says it can last up to 5 days, but if it is at an active joint (such as knee or wrist or elbow) or at the edge of your clothing line not likely. (Personally if I keep it on more than 3 or 4 days my skin starts to inch, the sort of the feeling you leave on a band-aid for too long or if you have had a cast for a broken bone.) The major negative drawback is the adhesive will sometimes build up around the edges if you leave the tape on for 4 or more days, so when you take the tape off a little adhesive outline remains. (This can simply and easily be wiped off with soap/water or rubbed off with your fingers but it is a little annoying.)KT Pro Extreme: has about the same review as KT Pro. There is only one difference that I noticed -- KT Extreme eliminated the adhesive residue and build up. There maybe a slight difference in the KT Pro Extreme not lasting as long and not sticking as long as the KT PRO, but very similar in performance and results.Final Recommendation: I would go with KT Pro hands down. The KT Original is great, just the KT PRO lasts longer after multiple water encounters. The difference between the KT PRO and KT Pro Extreme is only slight and not worth the price jump in my opinion. 5The 150 roll isn't performing like the 20 rollI have been buying pro kt tape consistently for 3 months, mainly from Amazon. I have only been but a 20 strip puck when I noticed I could buy a 150 strip roll and save some money. The 150 roll isn't performing like the 20 roll. Not sure if it sat on a shelf to long or what. Very disappointed as I spent 60 dollars for junk in my opinion. No option to return either. The 20 roll variety works excellent. Steer clear of this size of roll. 1It works!I bought this tape out of desperation. My husband has plantar fasciitis, and he was in so much pain he could barely walk. I read the reviews, and figured it couldn t hurt to try it out. And if Olympic athletes use it, maybe it might help us mere mortals? So it arrived, and it sat around not being used. To say my husband was skeptical is an understatement. He finally caved in when he had been doing yard work, and was in so much pain he was willing to do anything for a little relief. I used the heel pain directions instead of the plantar fasciitis simply because I didn t see it at the time (he prefers the heel pain wrapping after trying the plantar fasciitis taping). Now before you actually use the tape, make sure you check out their website for directions on how to use this. It s not like an ace bandage, it requires a different technique. I m getting pretty good at taping his foot, but it did take some practice and following the directions carefully. Anyway, back to my husband. I taped his foot, and hoped it would help. About an hour after I taped it I asked him how his foot was doing. He said it actually felt better. And the longer it was on, the better the pain relief. He also noticed that his foot would not hurt as much in between tapings. In fact we didn t tape him up one day, and he ended up really hurting. So now we make sure to tape his foot twice a week to help the healing process, and keep his pain level down. He does like to wear a compression sock over the tape for extra support. But this tape has really helped him, and we will never be without it anymore. If you have pain, you might want to give this a try. The company s website has tons of options for taping different areas of the body, so definitely check it out.Tl;dr- husband has plantar fasciitis and this works wonders! He prefers the heel pain wrapping directions vs. the plantar fasciitis instructions. Check the website for wrapping instructions, and how to tape properly. It s not like regular tape or ace bandage.*I was not compensated for this review. I purchased this with my own money, and wanted to let others know how well it helped my husband. Hopefully it helps you. 5Geeat price, good productGreat price. Buying it at the drugstore in 20-strip rolls costs about $1.00/strip. This is about 40 /strip. If you think you'll be using it often, this is a worthwhile deal. The producr itself isn't a cure-all. But, I have plantar fasciitis. Bad heel pain. I use 1/2 a strip from my heel to mid-foot, and a whole strip wrapped around my heel. This seems to give me more relief than the method they show in their videos online. The reduction in tension on the plantar fascia does help to relieve the pain much, much better than any other sports tape I have used, and it will usually stay on through multiple showers, thus saving money. Also, my skin is oddly sensitive to adhesives; even band-aid glue will cause a contact redness irritation. No such effect from this product. 5pre-cut bulk KT strips- exactly what I was looking forBulk size(150 precut strips) is just what I needed. I tried the KT brand in the smaller size package and it worked well.My physical therapist introduced me to "magic tape." It is fabulous. The precut strips make it so easy. I wont go back to cutting the tape myself.PROS:light weight and breathable.great how to videos for specific ailmentsholds up pretty wellIt does help in my recovery of foot issues. My husband also tried it for Achilles problems and found it helpful. The how to videos are excellent. A gentle reminder that this is not a cure all, just another tool in the toolbox to recovery. My tape lasts an average of 2-3 days. No it isn't waterproof and I switched to light quick showers to avoid soaking the tape.I ended up buying the black color because it was on sale.Hope this helps in your decision. Hope you feel better soon. 5
