Perfect for Epipens tooI bought this for my son's Epipens. It appears nothing like this product exists specifically for Epipens, just for insulin. But, this particular size fits two Epipens (in their cases) perfectly. It stays cool all day. We use it when going out on the boat or at the beach in the hot sun, and it works all day and even had some usefulness the next day without recharging. Great product, sure to save you some money compared to replacing Epipens spoiled by the heat! 5It just didn t work for me, twice.I m not sure if this is a fluke, but this is the second Frio I purchased and I didn t have luck with either one. The first one was smaller and it worked at first, but then it just didn t keep my insulin at safe levels. I know that living in a very hot climate I shouldn t expect my insulin pens to be fridge temperature cold when using this, but when I did use the two I had, it was as if I hadn t used anything. my insulin pen was hot to the touch. I threw away at least two insulin pens because this didn t work.I made sure to double check the instructions for this Frio and do everything right. I gave it about 3 chances and threw it away. It just did not work. I m very thankful that I have quite a few insulin pens but I can t afford to lose anymore. For those that this worked for, that s great, I just was not someone who could effectively use this in my life.I couldn t return this either, which was disappointing as it was my second attempt to get this to work. I really wanted a small insulting travel cooler so I could use most of the purses I have. Being a recently diagnosed diabetic has changed my life in a lot of ways and I love all my purses, but I ve yet to find a solution that allows me to use them and keep my insulin at safe levels. I have now switched to using an insulated backpack that I put ice packs in. It works great and I ve never had to worry about my insulin being okay. I just miss using a different bag for different life events but I m learning that changes are part of my life now. I actually really like the backpack I use because I no longer worry about my insulin. 2This product is MAGNIFICENT!I wanted some method of keeping my insulin cool without electricity and without freezing packs while traveling. I soaked the granule sleeve in the sink with cold water for about 30 minutes. I swelled up a lot and soft and squishy like jelly inside. I put the viles into it and placed the pack in a breathable carrying case. I put the pack in the back seat of the car out of the sun and we took off. The temp was about 75F in the car. 6 hours later we arrived at our hotel, checked in and I opened the pack to see how the drugs were doing and they were very nice and cool. That didn't change for the 3 days we were there. Traveled back home 6 hours and when we arrived the pack was still cool and perfect. There was NO danger of the insulin getting too warm. Remember, I KEPT IT OUT OF THE SUN. I hung the pack to dry out which took a bit over a week to finally go back to a granulated state. This pack is WONDERFUL! Small, no electricity, it just plain works. 5Northern California Summer Heat is a Go!I had car trip traveling from the Los Angeles area to the Northern California area last month ( July ) and the weather up in NorCal Is really really bad to say the least. I always wanted to grab one of these and decided to get the large size before I left.I kept a couple vials of Novolog in it for my pump (Yay 670g!) and a couple back up pens and one very long drive later and everything was very cool.I soaked it according to the directions the morning I left and thought that there was no way that there would be a noticeable difference in the temp of the pouch verses the surrounding temp and was very surprised. The little rock hard granules in the bag become some weird gel like consistency when the bag is soaked.Place your temperature sensitive meds in it and your good to go.Not only that but I got a good solid couple of days out of the coolness before thinking it might need to be soaked again.Fair warning though, soak it according to directions and maybe if needed a couple minutes longer but don't soak it and forget about it otherwise it will become some giant soaked swollen kind of weird thing!If that happens it might not fit easily into the outer pouch!Definitely a 5 star rating on this ingenious little invention.T1D's, this is a great item and you all should definitely grab one to keep your insulin safe! 5Worked perfectly when I had to take my meds to ...Worked perfectly when I had to take my meds to Europe and had 14 hours worth of travel. TSA in the USA and security in Europe didn't even give it a second glance. I went through security 4 times and the last time I didn't even take the pouch out of my purse since no one asked any questions the previous 3 times. A+! 5Effective way to keep medications cool in hot weatherI purchased this insulating wallet for a recent trip to Oregon during a heat wave where the temperatures were forecast to hit 100 degrees. My medications were stuck in the trunk for hours on end and when I checked, they were cool to the touch inside of the frio bag even though the suitcase and other items were hot. After returning from that trip, my AC in texas went on the fritz and the house was over 90 degrees for several days in a row. Again, the medications in the frio bag remained cool to the touch. Very handy way to keep medication within required temperature ranges. 5Great for Epipen Use!Bought this for my 18 yr old son to carry his Epipens in to keep them cool in the summer. Used it for the first time today and it worked great! Even in 98 degree temps, it kept the Epipens the right temp and the Frio cooling wallet is so roomy! The large wallet can easily hold 3 Epipens. It says it stays cool for 45 hours. We are on hour 30 or so and its still cool! Great product. Highly recommend. 5Worked GreatI bought this for traveling with injections that have to stay refrigerated until use and also for Epi-pen. The pictures show the large wallet that I purchased. The last picture was 24 hours after I soaked the wallet and it was still cold. I had left it in my pool bag for 9 hours in 98 day and it will be used again today out in the same heat. 5Didn't keep insulin cool enoughI bought this item because I was going on a cruise with my type one son and needed a way to keep his insulin cool. I don't feel like this product kept the insulin cool enough and ended up using a regular ice pack and an insulated lunch box. When I initially soaked the product the first time it seemed much cooler, but when i "re-soaked" the product, it didn't get cool at all. The gel started oozing out of the protective sleeve. There are no returns for this item which in my opinion for an item that doesn't work as expected, is crazy and that is why I am leaving a one star review. A company that doesn't back up their product obviously has a bad product and poor customer service. 1Didn't know this existed...so glad I found this solution for insulin protection.Best investment ever. No need to "freeze" packs...just submerge in cold water...good to go. Tested it prior to traveling to Africa in August....works great....will be able to travel with confidence. Highly recommend. 5
