Customer Reviews

Perfect for building a First Aid KitI'm an EMT and WFR and I am in the process of building several 'jump' bags for myself (home, car, 72-hour/hiking) and I love how this product comes with 12 individually sealed cravats. These little guys have so many uses in the field (slings, tourniquets, securing splints) having at least 2 in any first aid kit is a must! 5Individually wrapped, thin "gauze like" triangluar bandages.Individually wrapped, thin "gauze like" triangluar bandages. Non-sterile, so not for dressing material. For most folks, a triangular bandage is just used to hold a dressing in place, or to secure make-shift splinting material. For those purposes, these will work fine. They are small and wrapped in a zip lock and cheap. Some folks use triangular bandages for slings. These are too flimsy for that purpose. 4Sling that armI bought these four years ago for my main first aid kit so I've never really used them in order to review them. But I decided to take one out and review it. First I can say that this could come in handy in an emergency to stop blood or to use for a broken arm as a sling. It is nothing fancy but just some material strong enough to hold your arm as a sling. The safety pin that comes with it however is flimsy and should be a better quality. I'm giving it 3.5 Stars. It's not expensive but for the money I expected a better safety pin. If put on correctly however the safety pin should not be bearing weight anyhow. 3Minimum to do the jobThese, IMO, are one- time-use items. I was hoping for a decent triangle bandage of old, sturdy, tough material, hemmed edge, usable multiple times. These are not those. For the price of the 12 that came in the box, I would rather have 2 good ones. Not that these are useless, they just are not what I expect from a piece of support gear. The cloth is very low thread count - sieve material (certainly won't hinder any fluid flow), and just cut edges, not hemmed so they will unravel quickly. I had a triangle bandage that I used as a sling when I dislocated my elbow; used it every day for almost 2 months. I esteem these to maybe last two or three days used like that if one was careful with them. So as a bit of single use emergency gear, they may do the job, anything longer and you'll work your way through the 12 count box. Well, the two safety pins per each is a nice touch. 3Survey says.... It works! There's not much you can say about a triangle bandage. Either it's a bandage or it's not. These bandages are individually wrapped in little ziploc bags and include safety pins for... well, pinning them. The bandage fabric itself is a little thinner than other brands I have seen, but it's also thicker than some others I've seen. As for doubling as a sling, yeah, in a pinch it will work but it wouldn't be my first choice as a sling. For it's current price of .61 cents apiece you'd be a bit daft to complain. It's a bandage, it bandages things, can also be used to tie and bind things. Your imagination is your limit with these.Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! 5Excellent seller!A+ seller! Item as described! Highly recommended! 5Great qualityTriangular bandages are so vitally important to first aid and these are good quality. 5Description is deceiving. When you search for triangle bandages on Amazon, you get many options. I needed about 8 dozen for my Boy Scout First Aid merit badge class, so I searched out what I thought was the best price when purchased by the dozen. The product description here says "Size: 12". Since there is no such thing as a Size 12 triangle bandage (the size is clearly 40" x 40" x 56"), and since other sellers sold these by the dozen for similar prices to the one shown here, I assumed that this meant a quantity of 12, or about 40 cents each. ..a fair price. Instead I received 8 bandages for $4.70 each. I have ordered 8 dozen from another seller for a slightly higher price and have requested from this seller a return authorization for "Not as described". I will update this post and follow up with seller feedback after the seeing how the seller responds to this request. 1Got what I expected - good for an emergencyI expected an emergency triangle bandage and that's exactly what I got. They are neatly packaged in individual zip-lock bags with 2 safety pins. They look filmy and flimsy, but I'm a 6 foot plus sized guy and I tried one on for size; it's huge and more than adequate for any emergency. I would expect them to last a few days of use, and that is more than adequate for emergencies. These are going into my car and back pack med kits and I'll never worry about their utility. 5Amazing! heheNot much to say about triangular bandages. They appear fine, but I didn't open one because I'm fairly confident they'll work. I didn't think I needed 12, but I put one in each car and in each first aid kit.Recommended? Nothing fancy, but you should have one around anyhow. 5
