Customer Reviews

The most important thing is to thoroughly read the directions that come with the sleeve.I wasn't sure this would work but a friend said it would. On impulse I ordered it...had a terrible time figuring it out. I watched the video dozens of times. Finally I told myself "I can do this". I took the paper work into the bathroom where the cone was standing on the counter. Because I use a wheelchair, I struggled to get the stocking loaded correctly a couple of times. Finally I had a light bulb moment and it worked perfectly. I've worm compression stocking for nearly 25 years and this is the easier way to get them on. One of my care givers was very skeptical and announced that she didn't think it would work....boy, was she surprised and now is so proud that she can load the stocking herself and slide it right on for me. Kudos to the inventor. I was just getting ready to call for help when I read the directions....what a difference that made. Many thanks for this great product! 5Yes it's weird looking, but take a leap of faith, It works!!The guy who invented this is brilliant! I bought this for my 87 yo mom. She has venous insufficiency and lower leg lymphedema. Due to various orthopedic problems she's not very flexible. I do have to put her stockings on, but this makes it very simple. I wish I had found it sooner. I first bought her a Velcro style wrap initially. It worked well enough, but was more cumbersome to wear, more unsightly and impossible for her to do it herself. I think as she gets a bit stronger, and with practice she might be able to do the Doff n Donner herself. I am also teaching my dad how to use it.We had gone to a local store that carried this product so we could see it in action. She even tried it there. I watched many YouTube videos of various people using it. I ordered it. It came a day before her compression stockings did so I practiced with 8-15 and 15-20 mmHg socks. I also watched the DVD which came with it. Her correct compression (20-30) socks arrived yesterday and we tried out the Doff n Donner. Amazingly the stockings went on smoothly and quickly! Even the heel was in perfect position. Minor smoothing with the donner or gloves was all that was needed! My mom and dad were amazed as was I. By the way, we watched a 90 yo woman on YouTube put on 40-50 mmHg compression knee-highs by herself, that gave me confidence to make the purchase. 5The CTS Doff N' Donner combo is a major breakthrough in donning compression socks !Doctor prescribed that I use 20-30 mmHg, knee-high, closed toe, X-large compression socks to help my legs increase the flow of blood due to poor circulation caused by too much salt in my diet. I have used compression socks before to help support my leg muscles to run track events and, at another time, to help strengthen my leg circulation due to a chemical burn. So, I knew how difficult it would be to put on compression socks. This stimulated my search on Amazon for other donning solutions for compression socks. I found the CTS Doff N' Donner method and decided to try it. It works great ! My left leg requires a different approach to donning the socks since it is arthritic and has less flexibility than my right leg. However, I use the donner sleeve to put the sock on my left foot, but I must use a set of rubber gloves, not the sleeve, to smooth out the wrinkles in the sock since I cannot hold the slippery sleeve as easily as I can with my right foot. No matter, the sock still goes on with the Doff N' Donner, with a little assist from the gloves. 5Original Doff N' Donner combo pack for easily putting on compression hose in a fraction of the time and preserving expensive hosI had to go thru' a few online videos and get some assistance from the seller - who was great - before I really mastered this but oh my god, not only does this make putting on (and off) my 40mmhg compression hose so much easier, without a doubt the very expensive hose will last longer. Putting your hand down into the hose is just asking for snags and runs. Happened to me once and I was horrified. Adjusting the hose once they are on in another reason to pull and stretch the stocking and another way to ruin them.To keep these expensive hose in good shape, they need washing after every other wearing), so I have more than one pair and when one is being washed, I put a fresh pair on the cone, smooth out all wrinkles with the sleeve which is made of a material that removes wrinkles without needing gloves.By buying the second sleeve I can easily remove and store both my thigh high's at night and set both aside, ready for me to simply put my foot into and slide up my leg when I hurrying to get dressed the next day. Cuts the time and stress by maybe 60 to 70%; no hyperbole.High compression hose are very difficult to put on and you need strength I just don't have. I am dealing with having had a DVT which damaged my circulation) and now I've had a total knee replacement. Both mean I need constant support on one leg, although I wear both hose.Hose need washing to extend life and for obvious reasons so at some point, for me every second wear, I have to carefully remove the stocking by taking it off manually to hand wash, and then use the cone for my second pair of hose in the morning. They take a while to towel dry but I have the doff ( the tube) to start again with a fresh pair in the morning. The placement of the heal is obvious so it's very simple to put your foot into place along the seam line and the heal ends up exactly where it belongs. No twisting or fighting with the hose. You get better and better at this; faster and faster as you use it like anything else. My husband often helps and has really mastered this tool but I can do it myself if necessary. The price put me off at first, especially since I had to buy the extra sleeve but considering the price of one pair of Sigvaris medical hose, it soon makes a lot of sense. This dealer buys the Doff N' Donner kit and extra sleeves directly from the inventor who works with prothesthetics and developed this system to help his patients. I had a few questions and contacted the vendor. I got an immediate reply and excellent advice that solved my problem and she made some additional suggestions regarding type of compression hose that she doesn't even sell. Very personal attention. I encourage anyone who looks at this and feels confused, just to give her a call. 5GENIUS! BRILLIANT! NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD LOOK FORWARD TO DONNING COMPRESSION STOCKINGS!I am 70 years old and I have almost never seen something so simple and clever that I would call it genius. But, the Doff & Donner is GENIUS. I am having vein ablation in my legs this week and I was absolutely DREADING the thought of having to wear compression stockings. I saw a video demonstration of the Doff & Donner on You Tube and it looked to good to be true. I ordered it and the day it arrived I sat down and put on a pair of compression stocking to "practice". I did watch the You Tube video as I went and that was that. The stockings were on. Reverse the procedure and the stocking were off. I am a person who especially appreciates creative genius and I told my wife that the Doff & Donner was just that: CREATIVE GENIUS.For everyone who knows the struggle of dealing with compression stockings, and especially those who don't, but are going to have to begin wearing them, the best hundred bucks you will ever spend is for the Doff & Donner. TIP: You can just buy the sleeve and load the stocking using your arm, but I guarantee it would not be the same experience. Order the Sleeve and the Cone together. You will be glad you did. To see the Doff & Donner in action, just go to You Tube and type in Doff & Donner. There are demo video for both enclosed and toe less, as well as knee-high and thigh-high.Thanks for a really terrific product. You can feel very food about selling it. 5Highly recommend! After having a surgery for a left wrist fracture after a fall then carpal tunnel surgery due to the trauma on the nerve, I thought I would never have the strength to be able to get mycompression hose on again. I have lower leg venous insufficiency in both legs and needed to wear them and due to those surgeries had not for almost a year and a half. My legs were not in good shape and I happened to see this product demonstrated on YouTube. I am so thankful that I did. This product was the answer. To me it was a very short learning experience about the third time they were on in no time with no problems.By the way, this is for those of you that have a wider calf like me. It does work for me it doesn't go all the way to my knee but almost and after it gets over the heel and halfway up the leg the rest is quite easy and it comes off just as easy. This would be so helpful for someone assisting also.I wanted to mention that I use this with hose with the silicon band. 5Loved it!Loved it! I am very heavy (5'3" and 220). Getting the thigh high hose on was a veritable wrestling match before I got the combo kit. I was at my doctor's office after my vericose vein surgery, for a follow up ultrasound and complaining that I hated to have to put the hose back on as I did not have my rubber gloves to help. The nurse said "give me your hose and I'll be right back ". When she came back the hose looked like a little ball. She told me to point my toe and she just rolled them right up my leg, slick as could be! I got the name of the apparatus and went home and ordered it off Amazon. I got the set, with the pillar that locks down to the counter top. It came with a helpful video that pointed out how not to do it as well as the how to's. There was a portion of the video for assistants as well. When I spoke with my physician today I encouraged him or his staff to let people know about this before surgery, when we are supposed to do the several months trial with the hose. I would have been far more cooperative with wearing them had I know about this and didn't have to break a sweat every time I put the darned things on.I highly recommend this product 5This works so well!My mother was prescribed compression stockings. They are too difficult for her to put on herself. She also has very tender shin bones; no matter how hard I tried to pull the stockings up gently, it was painful for her. I tried many different ways to get them up, but it always remained painful, difficult and time-consuming. I worried what we would do if my sore shoulder got worse and I couldn't get them on her.The video for this product looked to good to be true, but I decided to try it. I used a test patient to practice learning on, and we watched the video several times to be sure we had it right, and to be sure it wouldn't put pressure on the shins. This product is amazing! The support hose slide on easily, painlessly and quickly. We couldn't be happier! I ordered a second sleeve so that I have both stockings loaded and ready to go in the morning. (Mom's arms are too weak to get the stockings started on the foot, so she does still require help to get them on.)I notice that some have had trouble getting the suction to work on various surfaces. I originally had trouble with that too. I found that if I rub a tiny bit of water on the suction piece before I try to attach it, it works much better.I highly recommend this for anyone who wears support stockings, or helps someone who does. 5Amazing device, especially for people with disabilitiesThis works exactly as advertised. I found out about this from my so who as a disabled vet received one thru the VA. My daughter is also a disabled vet but her VA Pt couldn t find find one in the VA so we found one on Amazon! Her staff are extremely appreciative; easier for them and less stressful for my daughter. Also fewer runs in $50.00 compression stockings. 5A true blessingI am new to compression socks, and was na ve about how difficult surgical grade compression garments are to put on properly. I have 20-30 mmHg socks (I know there are much stronger ones) and I had to have my wife help me get them on every morning as my knee surgery prevented me from bending enough to do it myself. This system has been a true blessing. I am able to get them on myself with less time and effort than when she was helping me. There is a short learning curve to perfect the results, but the operative word here is "short". It is not complicated or difficult. They include a video to show you how to use it, and there are plenty of online videos as well. Even if your condition still requires you to have help, this system will still make the process much easier on everyone. It is also easier on the garment itself, and will extend the life of the sock. I recommend this system without hesitation or reservation. A product that actually lives up to its claims! 5
