The packaging could be better...... but the sponges are as good as any I have used. I like the J&J Red Cross Brand better but they are more expensive and don't seem to be available in my local area. These are readily available, at least on Amazon, and are a satisfactory substitute. Some have noted that they felt they did not get what they paid for because there are only 25 packages in the box but that is 25 pkg. with 2 sponges in each pkg. for a total of 50 sponges just like the description says, if you bother to read it. 4Rip-Off!This is the most disappointing purchase I've ever made through Amazon. I'm glad it was only $5.The pads came half-filled in an open box (labeled to hold 50 pads).Seller maintains that since each packet contains two (very thin) pads, they fulfilled the order. 1Much better than woven gauzeTraditional woven gauze can pull apart and leave strands of the gauze stuck in the wound. 5Sneaky - but decent.Sneaky to pack two to a package and then you get half as many packages. Just know what you are getting. They are not bad, just made for more basic use. Do work well, just make sure you have enough! 3I would recommend this product.I purchased this product to supplement a first aid kit. The first aid kit was a real disappointment and was not at all equipped for anything more than a Band-Aid injury. This product supplements the first aid kit well and I believe everyone should keep various sizes of pads in theirs as well. There is peace of mind when I hit the road for a day trip, that I have, on hand, additional products for a true emergency. And second,I would prefer all sponges separated, once it's open it's not sterile anymore, so you'll get 25 sterile packs, not 50. 3DO NOT BUY - ONLY 25 PACKAGES OF GAUZEI expected to receive 2 boxes of 25 packs of gauze but instead received only 1 box of 25. When I contacted the seller they replied "The box of 25 sterile packs you have received have 2 gauze in each sterile pack to total 50." I would not have purchased if I knew it was a pack of 25 rather than a pack of 50. Also the gauze came shipped in a box with no top causing the gauze to be scattered in the shipping box when I revived it. Anyway, just know that you'll be receiving a box of 25 instead of 50. I really should have read the reviews first! TOG OTC Supply is not to be trusted! 1There are only 25, not 50. Misleading labeling.There are only 25 individual bandage packages. Therefore you can only treat 25 wounds. Each package says it contains 2 pads, but once opened, of course it is no longer sterile, so 2nd would need to be thrown out... EXCEPT, they are so thin that you need to use both to equal one J&J bandage, so while they appear to be cheaper, they are really TWICE AS EXPENSIVE and not as good. 1Not what I was hoping forI was somewhat disappointed in this product.First off, I thought I only received 25 pads (not the 50, I ordered). Then, I figured out that they are claiming that each individual package contains TWO sponges. Once an individual package is opened, you ll almost certainly use both (because they are very thin, and are no longer sterile once the package has been opened).Also, I m not sure why they are called sponges, because they are just thin gauze pads (as far as I m concerned).I can purchase (and have) sterile gauze pads from retailers (drug stores, Kroger, Wal-Mart) that are much thicker (12 ply) for about the same price 3Suitable and as describedThese individually wrapped gauze pads (or "sponges" as they are described here) are just what I needed. I wanted the pads to cover tatoos, but yet have enough air flow to them that it would promote healing as well. For my purposes, while they don't actually absorb as a sponge would (the tatoos are typically covered in a greasy type of anti-biotic ointment), they are large enough to cover most of the typical tatoos. I'm very pleased with this product. 5
