Customer Reviews

YES!I strongly recommend this product to anyone suffering with the weight of her pregnant belly! It was a lifesaver for me during the last two months of my second pregnancy. My doctor recommended this particular brand, and it was great. 5Try Best Cradle insteadI developed diastasis recti (stomach muscle separation) during my second pregnancy, and a physical therapist I saw to work on closing the gap recommended this support when I got pregnant again and hadn't completely healed the separation. I wanted to like it, but found the straps awkward and annoying, and couldn't really get over the grandma panties. Also kind of a pain that I had to undo a velcro closure to use the bathroom. I found another support called Best Cradle and am much happier with that. It's the only other support I could find that goes over the shoulders, is much easier to take on and off, and can be left in place to use the bathroom. 2Has helped my painI ordered the extra large so I could grow into it and there is plenty of space for my growing bump. This isn t the most comfortable thing but I got used to putting it on. BUT, most importantly, it is helping with the pubic bone pain that I ve been having. Definitely worth buying this 5Provides great support. The only down fall in the straps ...This has been a tremendous life saver for me. Who knew the difference it would be compared to a belly band. Provides great support. The only down fall in the straps that go across your breasts. 5Three Starstoo complicated and see thought the cloth ( at the neck area) 3Great support, crappy designI really could tell the difference in my pelvic girdle pain when wearing this. I think it was a great purchase. I knocked one star off because whoever designed this thought nothing of the woman's body and thought it would be a good idea to have a belt that goes over your boobs and make your belly and boobs one big thing. As if you don't feel big enough during pregnancy! Awful design but I situated it under my bra to get my figure back. Just more awkward to do that. Support was great though 4Super support!!This saved my legs the last 6-7 weeks of my pregnancy by lifting the weight off my legs and dispersing it evenly to my hips, back & shoulders. Really helpful! 5Great relief of hip pain!!Oh, this gave me back my life! It was a little difficult to figure out how to put on the first time, but that might just be me. Once I got used to how the hugger works, It was easy for me to adapt it to my needs on a particular day. My hip pain was no longer debilitating and I could walk again! 5Offers support, but has so many other challenges I just couldn't wear itI'm 22 weeks pregnant with twins (with a belly like a full term singleton) and I have been having tremendously painful ligament pain and I was ready to try anything to alleviate it. My doctor's office recommended the baby hugger, so I tried it. It DOES offer support and alleviated some of the pain--and there is a chance, later on in my pregnancy when I get even larger and need even more support, that I may decide to try using it again. However, the drawbacks I found with ranged from the superficial (shows through clothes more than I ever would have imagined--either massive white straps sticking out or glowing thorough tops--or the weird ridges of the straps making shirts look very funny since they don't lie flat anymore) to the physically challenging (in order to get enough support, the front straps had to be adjusted pretty tight on me and I felt like I just couldn't breathe and like I was trapped in these huge straps--also, the support only felt like it was there when I was standing or sitting up perfectly straight--I'm a sloucher, so this actually became exhausting after awhile, and anytime I slouched, the support would be gone), to the emotionally challenging (I never, ever thought that wearing something that looked like a giant diaper outfit would slam how I felt about my body so much--wearing it, I actually felt the way I would after waking up after abdominal surgery when the hospital puts weird gauzy underwear on you--I have never felt more ill and hospital-looking in undergarmets at home, ever as when I put this item on. I mention this because, although it sounds superficial, it actually made me feel like an invalid wearing it (probably didn't help that it crushed my chest so I felt like I couldn't breathe and that I was trapped from shoulder to crotch in it (I'm definitely not a fan of the attached underwear with the velcro to make it work when I have to use the bathroom a zillion times a day). I understand from a physics standpoint why the baby hugger is constructed the way it is, but I just felt so ugly and constricted in it that I couldn't keep it on, despite how much pain I was in. Granted, over the next few months, as I get larger, I may change my mind and try it again (and by then summer will be over, so I won't be trying to wear it with summer clothing). But I really was surprised how much I didn't like wearing it based on how it made me feel emotionally when I wore it (I've had pelvic surgeries multiple times, so other woman may not have the hospital associations that I do putting on a garment like this), but it really was a challenge to wear. If they could have constructed it without the panty component and maybe found a way to make it supportive without requiring you to be standing or sitting up straight all the time (support was gone when I'd lie down in a curled up position), and if it, at the very least, came in flesh colors and not bright white, I might have liked it better. That said, if you're standing up straight and don't mind everything else I've listed, it DOES offer support and ligament pain relief and may help you a lot! I ended up using curad's belt instead which, so far, is helping, but who knows if it still will when I get even larger. 3Good Supporting BeltProduct works as described and takes a lot of pressure off the belly. Only drawback I found is the belts around the shoulders show up under the shirt or any dress, little annoying but if you wear a covered dress then it is ok. other than this we found this working for the price paid. 4
