SturdyGreat water bottle so far ,thick materials and feels well made . I wouldn't worry about filling it with boiling water if your tap doesn't get hot enough I did and it seems just fine , holds heat well. 4Very cheap plastic. Not returnable.I have owned lots of hot water bottles (I know, that's kind of a weird statement! haha). All of them have been a nice, flexible rubber. This one is not. It's almost a stiff plastic, rather than pliable rubber. I tried to return, but of course that's not an option on this product. It will get used, but I'm very disappointed. This water bottle is the perfect size to hold or lay my face on to help relieve my discomfort. It has a smooth side and a thicker side with ridges. It states to cover water bottle with bag or cloth when using, but I prefer to use it without cloth because it doesn't get hot enough to burn. I fill the bottle half full of hot tap water, screw in the plug tightly, and lay my head on the smooth side of the bag. I've actually fallen asleep a few times as it feels like a warm pillow against my aching jaw. It is the perfect size for my lower back as well. It looks and feels well made and I've not had any leakage from the plastic plug. It works perfect for me.Update July 14, 2017:I'm still very happy with this purchase. It has saved me from much discomfort over the past year and it's still holding up very well. 5Too stiff, doesn't transfer heatPlastic is too thick. You are unable to feel the heat, even if you fill the bottle with the hottest water you can. Add the fleece cover and you feel nothing. It's also stiff and inflexible, which is not useful for ear infections when you want to lay on it comfortably. All around disappointed. 1Stays hot longerPros- this most important thing to know about this hot water bottle is that it stays warm much longer than any of my previous hot water bottles. This is good for snuggling up on the sofa for the evening or if you are prone to waking up during the night- cover is soft fleece with Valero seals to keep the bottle in place- both bottle and fleece are durableCons- be careful when filling with hot water as there is a risk of the water bubbling up through the opening. I love the fleece cover - I had used one like this before, so I was specifically looking for that feature, but I was especially pleased with this one because the cover is removable (the one I used was actually attached to the bag). I purchased it in May and used it about 6-8 different times since then - no leaks from mine (a couple reviews described leaks). Very pleased with this purchase thus far - I'll update if I ever have an issue!UPDATE DECEMBER 2018: I still use this water bottle. Whether it's cramps (sorry if TMI, but real life chat here), a cold bed in the winter, an ear ache, etc, I have been extremely pleased with this water bottle. I use it at least once a month, more in the winter. 5
