Not as good as before!We tried a few different brands but kept going back to Nespresso. After discovering Bestpresso we were happy to finally find a great alternative to Nespresso pods. When we first started ordering these, we were very satisfied. However, the last few orders we noticed the taste is different, not enough to stop ordering though. In our last shipment it seems like the foil has changed because our Nespresso machine doesn t puncture through all the way, which makes some water leak out the top. We ve cleaned our machine a few times and it doesn t help with this issue. We finally gave up and went back to buying Nespresso pods again... no problems with those pods at all. And... what a difference in taste! We didn t realize what we were missing until we had the real thing again. LOL! Another gripe is that we had these on sub&save so we forgot to cancel the next shipment. We thought we could just return since we never even touched the delivery box, let alone the pod boxes inside. Turns out these are non-returnable items at Amazon. Gahhhhhh. We found the coffee to be very weak in taste and not at all as rich as espresso usually is. I am frustrated that I couldn't just buy one box to test it but had to buy a more expensive variety pack which I cannot return. Now I am stuck with a huge amount of coffee that we cannot drink. I do not recommend this product!1Great Alternative!I have been consistently using the Bestpresso coffee pods home and at my office for about 6 months. Family and Coworkers will come at times just for the coffee. Im very into presentation and visual appeal so I have different size clear glass cups in which to serve the coffee. The expresso always comes with the crema on top. I also have a milk frother to make the cappuccinos. When served Ill sprinkle a dab of cinnamon and voila. Its always a conversarion piece and those around me get to feel special and spoiled. Great product for the price.I previously tried the plastic refillable pods with suggested extra fine coffee but that was a total waste of money. Bestpresso is a happy medium between that and Nespresso.5Just okay, won't order again.Updated 7/31/16: The company has great customer service and offered to send me another batch to hopefully improve my rating and experience. I would love to be able to increase my rating, but even this new batch is just okay. We're about 1/4 of the way through and I almost don't want to deal with the bad pouring shots. I use two capsules in my coffee each day and I've been having to use 3 just to get 2 full shots due to the poor quality of the water pushing through the capsules. Overall, I'd say 4 stars for service and 2 stars only because the coffee tastes okay after you get the shots to pour correctly.Original Review:We did end up going through all of these eventually but it took us a while as we would use them when we ran out of others we liked.The good...- Price.- Drinkable.- Convenient to have Prime shipping and get them a few days after ordering.The not so good...- The shots pour so slowly that they separate by the time you can get them in milk.- They are dark blends, which are usually my favorite, but two of the three just tasted burnt to me. Personal preference, I know, but it wasn't great.2Waste of moneyI decided it is worth testing all Nespresso alternatives just to make sure there is not some hidden value out there.Reading a lot of reviews did not help much since most people were talking about taste.Taste is very subjective and it is not the real point.The major difference between the Nesspresso and the substitutes is not so much the taste but the extraction. The Nespresso capsule always produces a steady stream and the exact quantity of water is able to go thru, making the shots consistent.With Bestpresso, it takes 3 capsules to draw 2 oz of coffee. The machine appear to strugle. Only small amount of water is able to get thru and then it stops. You try again and nothing happens. That it is not the case with all the capsules though. Some will draw fine, some will not. Think about the fact that all the substitutes capsules are packed in sealed packages and when you open them you can smell the coffee. I thought if the smell is able to come out then moisture can get in. Therefore the capsules are not sealed. This is a problem.Don't get fooled, even if you happen to like the taste, you won't be able to get a consistent shot. And are they that much cheaper so you can afford to use 2-3 capsules for one shot?I had to try. But now I know. Nothing against the Bestpresso company but If they want to compete they need to try harder. Either that or bring the price down to about 20 cents per capsule. Then it will be worth it.Rosso caffe capsules are also more dificult to draw than Nespresso but are still ok. Bestpresso is worst.1Good taste, nice crema, proper function, happy to get them so quickly via PrimeI've been very happy with these as an alternative to the actual Nespressos but in flavor and the fact that I can get them the same day via Prime. They taste pretty close to the original although my wife thinks they're a little on the strong side which I'm not really willing to say is a bad thing. They have a nice crema. There is a pretty serious (good) aroma when you open the vacuum packaging. Given this and the fact that they are packaged like this, I've been keeping them in a sealed container once the package is opened.I have NOT had any that have not been properly punctured by the machine. I have had this happen with other knock-offs I've tried so pretty pleased.I just went ahead ordered some of the lighter flavor pack to see how those are.5As good as the official Nespresso capsules in my opinionHalf the price, just as delicious, and I have now been buying these for about 2 years. I have never had a problem with Bestpresso brands and I tell all my friends with Nespresso machines to buy Bestpresso. There is no reason to pay 70 cents a pod from Nespresso when these taste just as good in my opinion. I have tried a few other brands of knock off Nespresso capsules and I really think Bestpresso is the best choice. You can tell the vacuum seal I honestly run my pods twice a lot of the time and save more money.5Something changed--lots of dud pods--switching brandsI have been getting the brand for a long time now...over a year? Maybe 2 years? I haven't had any issues until now. I don't know what changed, but this last batch had a TON of duds in it. I've never excountered ANY until now. So weird. And extremely disappointing. I thought I was saving even more after switching from Rosso Cafe, but if I have to throw half of them out, I'm actually wasting a ton of money.The water won't go through it. It comes up and then can't make its way through. I panicked and thought something was wrong with my machine, but I pulled out the second machine I had that my Mom just sent for work and they did the same exact thing! And that machine had been used only a handful of times since purchase, again, without prior issue.Again, never had issues until now, but now it was blatantly so many of them I won't be ordering again.2Not good tasting anymore.We have been using bestpresso pods for several years. They've been pretty good up until the last year. I'm not sure what's happening in manufacturing but the quality has dropped significantly and the coffee has been so bitter, nearly un-drinkable. We thought it may be our machine over heating the water, so we tested out the original Nespresso pods and another knock off brand before buying another machine. Thankfully we did and have discovered our machine is just fine and the coffee from other companies taste great. Something has happened to the coffee for the bestpresso unfortunately. I hope they figure it out. Until then we're using other pods.1
