Expensive, but makes cutting baby's nails pain freeLet me make this short, because I have a new baby:- Baby was scratching his face and me with his nails.- I tried cutting his nails with a borrowed baby nail clipper, the kind you get at Babies R Us. It sucked. It was really difficult to use, and left ragged edges.- I resorted to using my own nail clippers, which were surprisingly better than the baby one, but still were hard to use.- I looked on Amazon, read the reviews, and bought this expensive Japanese nail clipper.- I love it. Baby doesn't even notice I'm cutting his nails, and I can cut his nails much sooner (i.e., when there's less overhang) so he has less of a chance to scratch himself.- Expensive Japanese stuff for the win! 5The best product out there! The best nail clipper ever! I had a sicssor version from piyo piyo, liked it okay but it was lost. Then I decided to buy this one. OMG, why didn't anyone tell me about thus before?! The curve of the blade is perfect for small infant and toddler nails. It's so easy to use. Scissors version can only be used probably up to 6 months? But this one can be used for my 5 yo niece. It's easy to use, It catches the cut off nails so you don't have to worry about the mess. Every new mom should get this! Giving it as a present for my friend. 5Works fine, but difficult to holdThere's nothing to keep my thumb in place to prevent it from sliding down the clipper as I'm trying to trim my son's nails, unless I set the end against my thumb instead, which is uncomfortable and more difficult to press down. I would not purchase again. 3I've had many nail cutters and this one is barely ...I've had many nail cutters and this one is barely average. It's not very sharp nor usable. I've used the pigeon scissors for cutting nails, and figured to try the clips. I tried them once, and it just wasn't for me. 3Best nail clippers for all agesI have gone through several nail clippers and I mean several! I use these for 2-5 year olds right now and even for myself when I can't find my own. I would have used these when they were younger if I had found them sooner. These have been the best so far. They don't bend the nail and instead actually trim without leaving scratchy edges. You can also see the nail/nail bed while you are trimming which is extremely helpful. What more can you ask for! 5Like a ninja in the nightThese clippers are way better than the ones I was working with before! I had some alligator ones from a kit that was given to me from my baby shower. Those would just bend the nail, but never cut it. I would have to make a few attempts just to get the nail off. But these are awesome. I cut my 2 month old's nail while she sleeps, and it takes one attempt and the nail is clipped. No bending, no having to try to clip the same spot over and over. Just one time, and move on to the next finger or toe. I'm usually very nervous doing her nails, scared I'll hurt her, but these I don't worry too much. Made it easier for me to be in and out before she even noticed. Also the handling on these are easier to maneuver, for me anyway. 5Maybe only for baby, poor quality for 3+ year olds.I bought this because I connect quality to Japanese products. Judging from the reviews they work for others and maybe because these are strictly made for babies. I used these clippers on my 4 and 8 year old and they barely cut their nails. They are not sharp and chew up their nails instead. I've used others by Safety First, also made for babies and they cut my kids' nails much better. 1Sharp and easy to useThe best nail clippers I've used for baby, kid or adult. So easy to use and they cut sharply, even after 4 years of weekly use on both of my kids. I actually came back here looking to see if they same makes nail clippers for adults because I can't find a good pair of clippers for myself, despite trying many brands. 5Still working great but is nail clipping ever easy?Trimming your babies nails is never easy of course. We tried several other clippers and these just seem to work the best. Each snip always cuts through the nail where others seem to leave part of it hanging. It's easy to grip and we've yet to have a clipping accident with it. Still nice and sharp after 6+ months and working great.UPDATE 11/11/13 - About 4 months ago the yellow plastic housing broke. However, that was 3+ years of almost weekly use. Just ordered another one as these are still the best. Still being used on our now Pre-K child and kids get way more wiggly as they get older, but these are still the easiest for me to control. Also, I noticed a few others report they were hard to hold/too small. I'm a big guy with large to x-large hands and I have no issues holding it. Without the yellow plastic housing however, it's very slippery and tough to hold. Though a small purchase, this was one of the best purchases we need when first having kids. 5Use on your infant, not your newborn.Excellent for cutting infant nails because they are really sharp and have a guard to keep nail clippings from flying and possibly hitting yours, or your baby's eyes.I do not recommend for newborns as their nails are really soft and you risk clipping their skin in the process. Use a nail file on them while they are asleep, it is much safer. So use these once your baby's nails become firms. 5
