Customer Reviews

Don't botherI was excited to order this product believing that it would bring some relief to my ankle. It's not really practical in size and can only be worn around the house. I was able to wear it in the house for about 2 days before it stopped holding its inflation. I could pump it up, but once any pressure was applied, it deflated. There was nothing I could do to make it work again. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I would not purchase this again. 1It works fineI have PTTD, early stages. This does a good job stabilizing the ankle. Sometimes the bar on the left side irritates the outside of my ankle - I have to shift it to keep that from happening, and I have to wear socks or the seams will irritate the skin. I wear it around the house but can't fit it into any of my shoes, I purchased stability sneakers for outdoor use. The blow up arch support works fine and seems to help. 3Poor quality-quits holding air within a few days/weeks. Don't waste your money.I purchased this item through Amazon, it came quickly and I was delighted...at first. It worked perfectly, but only for a few days. It quit holding air almost immediately. I got a replacement through Amazon, which also came quickly. It lasted a couple weeks. I tried and tried to get it to work and stay pumped up and ended up allowing the return time expire. Now I'm looking for something more reliable. 1... inserts $400 and had a brace made by a great foot and ankle specialist $800I have PTTD and paid for orthopedic inserts $400 and had a brace made by a great foot and ankle specialist $800.(Thank God for insurance) But I had been researching this particular brace for about 2 months and took a chance and purchased. Lets me say, I had not played racquetball in over 8 months and since receiving I now am back to playing 2x a week and have NO pain. I have not felt this good since I dont know when. I truly have no pain during play and most importantly after. I am GRATEFUL for this product. Thank you thank you 5And it's comfortable - I usually forget I'm wearing itExactly what I needed. After discovering that my perpetual ankle pain was caused by tendinitis caused by over-pronation (PTTD), I tried many different orthotics, etc. While I found orthotics worked well for non-sports, I didn't find any really sufficient enough for aggressive movement - my ankle still hurt after tennis and crossfit workouts. Then I found this brace. No more pain after a tennis match or workout. And it's comfortable - I usually forget I'm wearing it. 5Seller does not accept returns!!!We ordered this item and once we got it, it does not fit as described in ad. We tried to return this item within 10 days of the order as it says it can be returned in the legal disclaimer. But it CAN NOT be returned. I advise everyone not to order this product! 1Poor quality, but good reliefThe durability of these braces is awful. I have rarely had one last more thatn 3-4 weeks. The balloon that inflates under the arch has very poor valve construction, and 4 out of the last 6 have only lasted a couple of weeks. Combined with the speed at which the fabric wears, these are a horrible value. That being said, they are the best non-surgical solution I've found so far, and my orthopedist's office wants $100 each for them. 3IT REALLY WORKS!I have a ruptured posterior tibial tendon, tendinosis, bursitis from a severely twisted ankle. This aircast PTTD brace has been a godsend as without it I am unable to weight bear. My doctor did not want to put it in a regular cast as tend to get more scar tissue vs repair of tendon. This brace allows me to take it off to massage my ankle, and to do passive ROM to promote healing. I am having a custom brace made but in the interim, this aircast has allowed me to be up and about. It does fit in my athletic shoe as my shoe is a wide. Due to the severity of my injury I have to use 2 canes when up and about but without this brace I would be non weight bearing. I plan to continue to use it even when my custom brace is ready as if I need to I can wear this one at night and when able, plan to use it in the pool so I dont re injure the tendon as it starts to heal or may order a second one just for the pool. I would suggest to promptly rinse off, mild soap and water, pat dry and then air dry completely. So far, I have had no issues with loss of air. Also, I found that too much air made my tendon more tender as I am naturally flat footed and was originally over inflating. 2-3 "pumps" of air was all it took to give me relief. I am not sure my ruptured tendon will heal completely without surgery but this is sure worth a try!July, 2019 update. Did get my custom made brace ($1200) for which I could only wear a few weeks as it was not made right and worsened my torn tendon so much that I had to go on crutches. So big setback and money down the drain for me and insurance company, and I am back in the aircast pttd brace since March/April. It works so much better than the custom AFO brace. I think I am one of the lucky ones as the aircast is still holding air just fine. The material is starting to wear some around where top of the heel area slides into my shoes. I purchased a second aircast pttd brace recently just in case the air bladder does break some day. My use past few months is just walking with crutches partial weight bearing with pttd aircast in sneakers and hikers. Since I am not very active now may be why the brace has lasted so long? These tendons once ruptured are difficult to heal. As it heals and feels better it is important to follow doctor's orders and resist temptation to overuse or you will inflame tendon and back to square one again. Anticipating a year or so recovery. Aircast worth a try as surgery also has year recovery. I miss wearing regular shoes but wide athletic shoes or hikers work great with this brace. 5Beware of purchasing this product. This is not a good product. It does not fit properly and you may experience soreness around the ankle, heel. It is definitely not a good support for flat feet! Strapping may cause swelling around ankle and feet. I definitely would not recommend anyone considering purchasing this product. Beware this item is non returnable. 1Works well for chronic PTTD correctionThis is the third one of these I have purchased over the last year. They have worked well but do tend to get frayed and may develop a slow leak after several months of daily wear. I also have an $800 medical grade "Arizona" ankle brace but prefer to wear the Aircast because it is more comfortable. The Arizona brace does provide better support because it has a hard shell and was custom fitted. The Aircast is hard to keep clean because everything sticks to the velcro closures and it is not machine washable, due to the air bladder. Unlike the Arizona brace, it can be worn while swimming or doing other sports activities. 4
