Not just for MEN!Bought for daughter's military shoes. I only give four stars because they are not just for MEN'S shoes, they are for ANYONE'S shoes! They work just fine. 4Fine...I ordered Med's and got Large's. I didn't contact the seller, I just used the larges. Because of the wrong size, I can't give a perfect 5 rating, but it's not a big deal either. Got a generous supply of nails. Including some longer ones. The smaller nails don't hold as well. But got plenty of small AND large ones, so good to go! Not much can go wrong with heel plates, they are as they appear and work fine for about 6 months before they wear down and I have to replace them again. As I walk on the outside of my heel by nature, these sure do protect the heels of my shoes, and prolong my shoes' lives by years! Highly recommended! 4Life extender for all my shoewear.I have used these for years. I still wear shoes from the early '90's. A lifesaver for shoe heels. I use them in all sizes for all my shoes. 5Good money-saving product.My wife and I both wear western-style boots. These heel plates are the STEP brand I have used for 25 years. They save a lot over time vs. having to get the whole heel plate replaced. My local source for these is out of business. This size(4) is a good fit for my wife's size 8 boots. They came with a few extra tacks. This is nice because the tacks are sometimes made incorrectly(If you have used many tacks you know what I mean). I will buy from this seller again. 5Prolongs your shoe heelAfter paying a cobbler to add these to my shoes, I decided to give it a try myself. Relatively easy to secure to my shoe heel using a small hammer. 4Good enough if you don't need all 7 pairs.One of the heel plates was defective, thus looked smaller than the rest & the nails that came with it was not enough, it was missing 3. Also the plates would have been easier for an ordinary person to attach or nail down, if the area for the nail already has an actual pre-made hole, instead of just a dent.Item came in time though as promised. 2I found these heel savers easy to installThese heel savers are the same as what you get from the shoe repair stores, except instead of paying $5 for one pair, you get 7 pairs for about $7. I found these heel savers easy to install. The peel and stick adhesive is strong and holds the heel saver in place while you tap in the nails. The outsoles of my shoes are rubber and the nails were easy to push in by hand to get started. I tapped the nails in the rest of the way with a small hammer. I used a piece of 2x4 to rest the shoe to provide a firm backing for the hammering. 5Good buy!They're really sturdy. My dad has a favorite pair of shoes that he wouldn't let go of and the heel part are worn out. He just puts these on them and it would take months before he needs to replace them. Unlike other brands which are rubbery and would last only half the time. I've bought three different kinds and this is the best. 5Works GreatI've used Kiwi brand heel protectors for about 20 years. They are the type that have a peel off backing adhesive on the taps, along with small nails. The cost is about $3 for 2 medium and 2 small taps. I use a medium tap on both the heel and the toe of my dress shoes and they have helped some of my leather shoes last more than 20 years (i.e. the heels and the leather soles). These are medium size, exactly matching the size of the medium Kiwi taps. They don't have adhesive so I bought a $5 tube of Shoe-Gu that worked very nicely. Will definitely buy again. 5Highly Recommend these! Great value for the price. See comment about attaching to shoes.Exactly what I was looking for. Wore them a month before reviewing so I'd know how they held up. They are wearing great, protecting heels well, so far staying attached. I recommend, along with using the nails provided, pulling sticky tape off and painting contact cement on both shoe surface and heel pretector. Let both sides dry, then stick them together (per instuctions on contact cement bottle). This will help them stay on better. Be sure nails are driven into shoe all the way so that they don't snag on carpet or something and pull out. Contact cement is waterproof so it works better than glue.HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE!! Good value for price. They'll save your shoes! 5
